The art of playing card flourishing is expression through the manipulation of cards utilizing a deck's ability to split into 52 parts.
It is an extension of the flourisher's personality, where through this expression he finds a sense of freedom.
In 2004, four artists in Singapore formed the card flourishing team, Virtuoso, and took the world by storm.
They took a break from the public scene in 2006 to reconceptualize their team.
The year is 2007, and here Virtuoso pushes the limits of the art again like never before.
Welcome to the tip of the iceberg of what's to come.

On the 2nd of November, 2007, I took a train down to Los Angeles to hang out with international flourish legends Dan and Dave Buck. After lunch we headed to the Getty Museum, and seeing as how I brought my camera with me, we decided to film some footage at one of the empty spaces outdoors.
We ended up with over an hour of footage, the massive amount of which was eventually whittled down into this 3-minute video that you see now. Enjoy!

Here's another oldie from a while back. This is by Virtuoso, Singapore's first official card flourish group consisting of Elijah Cai, Sylvester Singh, Huron Low, and myself. The footage that the video consists of were taken from our self-titled short that we submitted for a nationwide film festival in Janunary of 2005. Suffice to say, we didn't win anything, but we were subsequently featured in several news articles concerning the rising popularity of flourishes in Singapore.

It's been over half a year since I've posted a tutorial, so I figured it was time to make a new one.
There are a lot of flashy multiple-packet cuts out there, but the real challenge is to make something just as nice with only two.
I've been using this for a while (some of you may recognize it from HFFH), and as of late the handling has been changed to have it end with Huron's amazing deck spin, Swivel. He graciously gave me permission to teach this move, so give credit where credit is due and offer a prayer to the big H every time you perform this.

Here's a little one-move video showcasing a flourish I came up with in January of this year.
The title is a tongue-in-cheek ripoff of Scott Watters' "Sick and Twisted", Chris Hestnes' "Wings of the Butterfly", and Daren Yeow's "Mockingbird". The move, however, is only inspired by a creation of Daren's.
Snippets of this move in its early stages were seen in both my January effort "Void Deck" as well as the recent Virtuoso video. These are the two complete versions as of today, so I hope you enjoy them.
