CROWDS of people in Stretford watched in awe as a formation of mysterious orange lights hovered low over their houses last night.
The intensely bright orbs, the colour of the setting sun, were spotted by dozens of residents between 10 and 11pm.
Motorists stopped their cars and neighbours on several streets congregated outside to watch the orbs pass slowly overhead.
Some took mobile phone videos and photos of the strange lights, while others reported the sightings to Greater Manchester Police who sent two officers to investigate.
Matthew Darsley, 31, of Haworth Drive, said: "It was the strangest thing I've ever seen. They looked as if they were on fire, really bright orange orbs. We spotted eight or nine go over my house between 10 and 11pm.
"They definitely weren't helicopters or planes or anything like that, and there was no smoke or sound.
"We were thinking, `this is it'.
"By the end there were about eight people out in the close watching them go by. My neighbour said she'd seen them as she was leaving the Trafford Centre.
"These things were massive. The first one I saw was just below the cloud line but the others were probably only about 300ft up.
"I took some pictures and video but I couldn't really seem to capture the size of them, just a bit in the middle like the filament of a light bulb."
A spokesperson for Manchester Airport said they had had no reports of unusual activity and the Civil Aviation Authority declined to comment on the sightings.
And a Ministry of Defence spokesman said it examines unidentified flying object reports solely to `establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military aircraft'.
Mum Beverley Clarke, a careers advisor in her fifties, watched the orbs with her husband Michael and son Joe from their back garden on Abbey Close.
"It was amazing," she said. "I'd just returned home and we caught sight of one through the trees. It went over one of the houses and was still for a while before slowly fading away.
"Just as it was disappearing another one came again from the same direction. It wasn't something we imagined.
"I don't really believe in flying saucers but they were huge bright orange spheres.
"They were lower than a plane but higher than a helicopter.
"I was saying, `Oh my God', because it was so strange."
Experts in defence intelligence staff reported in 2000 that many UFOs are in fact an atmospheric phenomenon, extremely hot gases (plasmas) created by charges of electricity.
And 20 homes in Manchester and a plane were struck by lightning the night before as electrical storms hit the region.
Steve Mera, of the Manchester Association of Paranormal Investigation and Training, said UFO sightings have increased by 40 per cent this year with 150 in the last three months.
"Many of the reports have been local," he said. "We've had a spate in Northenden recently. There are a lot of things we have to rule out, such as Chinese lanterns, meteor showers, exotic aircraft and meteorological phenomena.
"Still, about six per cent of sightings remain unexplained."
A spokesperson for GMP said: "We received two reports of objects in the skies above Stretford last night. It is believed the lights in the sky occurred naturally, possible as a result of a meteor shower."

Thanks to user claypaff for giving me permission to upload this to my channel. I edited his video for brevity, kept the best parts. This video was shot at Vernon, BC Canada in July 2008. I think it is an exceptionally good capture of the government showing off some of our amazing new technology.
I really wish they would completely spill the beans and let us see one close up sitting still on the ground to check it out. This video is clearly authentic and the object is well defined and the camera is picking up on something really there and it is NOT a planet, a star, the space station, a meteor, ball lightning, swamp gas or a weather balloon. I'm sure the military would claim "fighter jets" were training, errr... no, not that either. It looks like a freakin' BOMB PoP haaa
I wanted this video on my channel so I could read people's comments and opinions about how this craft might operate, or if they have been in the military and seen one. And I wonder what is the necessity that it emit every light from the spectrum? What is it doing? I would think a useful spectrogram of the light could be obtained from this video and analyzed by someone.
This is really pretty convincing to me that we have some very advanced aircraft flying around in plain view for some reason. I think we have the right to know what's going on since it appears to not be so secret, and since our tax money is paying to build this stuff.

Here are three clips of a UFO I filmed in July of 2008 - these are
much higher quality than the last clip.
I have no idea what this was. It appeared to be a large upright
cylinder of multi-colored flashing light(s). It hovered on occation
and moved slowly, until it disappeared shortly after I took the video.
I make no assumptions. I only know that it wasn't anything I could
identify as conventional, and the more I thought about it after the
fact, the more amazed I was at what I saw and filmed.
Decide for yourself, and be blessed. I can only say that it was real,
and I could give a rats butt if anyone doesn't believe me.
It was much more colorful when I saw it, and it was much larger looking
as well. The vid doesn't do it justice.
It didn't really zip off as much as just disappear.
It was amazing :-)

Dickie Goodman (April 19, 1934 - November 6, 1989) is considered one of the earliest proponents of sampling in music, through a series of "break-in" records he created from 1956 to 1986. His first song, "The Flying Saucer," was co-written with partner Bill Buchanan, and featured a description of a news-covered invasion of earth from a Martian space ship. While Goodman asked questions of pedestrians, scientists, and even the Martian himself, their responses were "snipped" from lyrics of popular songs of the day, including tracks from Fats Domino, Elvis Presley and Little Richard.
Although "The Flying Saucer" became a major hit, it also landed Goodman in court for infringement of copyright - e.g. the songs he used to create his "break-in" records. The lawsuits were later settled out of court when the judge ruled that Goodman's records were burlesques and parodies, and were original creations in and of themselves.
Goodman later recorded other break-in records, usually based around a political theme, or having his reporter (often as "John Cameron Cameron") alter-ego interviewing Batman or Neil Armstrong. In 1975, Goodman returned to the pop charts with "Mr. Jaws," a break-in record in which he interviews several characters from the motion picture Jaws. Peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, "Mr. Jaws" became Goodman's biggest-selling hit record.
Goodman's singles often had instrumental numbers (in which his actual role is uncertain) as B-sides. These are not found on either his original LPs or his CD compilations.
Goodman died in 1989 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His son, Jon Goodman, continues to promote and administer his father's works. In 1998, Jon supervised the issue of Greatest Fables, the first authorised CD collection of Dickie Goodman's recordings, which included Jon's own tribute, "Return Of The Flying Saucer". (This included sound bites from The X-Files and Hanson, among others.) Jon authored a biography of sorts about his dad, entitled "The King of Novelty" in 2000. Xlibris Corporation published the book. In 2006, his estate produced and authorized two albums: All Time Novelty Hits and Dickie Goodman's Greatest Hits.
Goodman is survived by his son Jed and daughter Janie.
Dickie Goodman is recognized by Billboard Magazine as the #1 Novelty Artist of All Time.

Pretty good UFO capture on video. I put the original home video at the beginning and end. @40 seconds you cant see the things swirl around each other. That's pretty smooth flying technology we've got I'd say, if that's our stuff. Another good convincing vid that something is going on. AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) -- Two Austinites believe they saw a UFO flying over Austin in October. They said they have the videotape to prove it. Carl Lancaster and Doug McCullough were both outside their apartments in Central Austin on Middle Fiskville Road Oct. 8 around 9 p.m. when they both saw three bright lights. Lancaster said he saw a red light and two white lights that flew in a zigzag pattern across the sky.
"It was just incredible and just unexplainable," said Lancaster. "The lights flew on top of each other and then side by side."
McCullough captured the mysterious lights on his home video camera.
"We've got proof," said McCullough. "It's great to finally capture something on video."
Lancaster started waving at the lights, and he said they responded to him by flying on top of each other and then side by side.
"It was a UFO," said Lancaster. "E.T. probably!"
Torvald Hessel, Austin Planetarium's Executive Director, closely examined Lancaster and McCullough's video. He pointed out the lights made a zigzag pattern across the power poles.
"Shooting star, meteorite," said Hessel. "It's possible, but I wouldn't be able to explain the zigzag movement."
Hessel watched the video twice and even watched it frame by frame to examine what looked like two lights on top of each other. He said the lights could have been from an airplane or helicopter, although he said that was unlikely.
"It's obviously two lights, which is interesting," said Hessel. "No idea what it is, probably not aliens over Austin."
Just recently in Stephenville, Texas, high school student Andy Monrreal was hanging out with friends when he also recorded what looked like a UFO.
"You could see the oval shape," said Monrreal. "Got my friend, I said 'dude, you got to come look at this.'"
Meanwhile, Austin Bergstrom International Airport officials said they had no reports of any mysterious objects flying over the city the night Lancaster and McCullough saw their UFOs, but Lancaster and McCullough said they have all the proof they need.
"When I see one, I'll believe it," said Lancaster. "I saw not one, not two, but possibly three that night."

Complete original archive footage at the end. A film expert noted in the documentary that the film came in an old Soviet film can and the numbers on the films header matched the cans they came in. The header of the film has the crest of the KGB on it and the term for TOP SECRET.
An autopsy of the alleged pilot of the UFO is seen in the documentary film. Soviet doctors examine the burned torso of the entity and it is revealed that the three doctors died one week later all from cerebral hemorrhages. Death certificates are presented as proof.
Several KGB documents are produced to prove the film is authentic. Some have put forth the argument that an American Production crew filmed the footage in March 1998. These claims are put forth on web sites claiming to know the truth about this footage. To date they have failed to show even one current photo of any of the soldiers in the film nor any statements from the actors that they were indeed only actors in this film. This should be easy to obtain if the footage was recently filmed. Another theory suggests the film was a training exercise.
The details of a Russian Crash on or about 1969 are sketchy and somewhat suspect. This case comes from the so-called "Secret KGB Files," which were reportedly smuggled out of the former Soviet Union. Reportedly, $10,000 was paid for the information. The details of these secret files were first offered to the general public on 9-13-98 as part of a TNT special titled "The Secret UFO Files of the KGB." The show featured extraordinary film and still photographs of the UFO recovery, and also a portion of autopsy film on part of an alien body.
The event itself, according to the files, occurred in the state of Sverdlovsky, which was formerly Yekatrinburg of the USSR. The crash story follows a familiar pattern normally associated with this type of report. The fiery crash of an unknown object occurred in March 1969. The site was secured by the Russian military, and one dead alien was found in the wreckage. The remains of the craft and alien were brought to a secure location, and the alien body was autopsied. Both still and moving pictures were taken of the craft, its retrieval, and the alien autopsy. The autopsy shows only an alien torso and arm. From the size of the body parts, the alien would have been an extremely small being.
The footage at the crash site does seem to be authentic at least on several points. The truck in the film is a circa 1950 model ZIS151, which has not been used by the military for quite some time, and the truck would have been difficult to find to stage a hoax with. Other elements of the film do not exhibit any obvious signs of a hoax, as to the movement of the soldiers, the timing of the film as to shadows, and the UFO itself.
There are also several documents shown to verify the event itself, and an eyewitness to the event who swears that the recovery mission did occur. The footage of the autopsy film shows personnel without caps and gowns, which seemed odd to me at first, but after some research I found that this was commonplace for that era in Russia.
The furnishings in the room are acceptable, and in Russia have probably not changed much today. Three men in their 20's and 30's are performing the procedure, and one woman is taking notes. The note taker is identified as KGB stenographer O. A. Pshonikina. The alien's torso and arm are lying together on the table as the autopsy is performed, and there are documents shown to support the autopsy.

Me and my mother were going home along a country highway about 11pm one evening, and I noticed a strange flashing light in the sky way out over the cotton fields,
but thought it was the radio tower there, so I paid it no special notice except it was an odd amber color . As we pulled into the driveway of our home, I could still see the light, not moving, but it was where I knew there was no radio tower, so I stood in the driveway smoking a cigarette
staring at it because it was not moving, wondering what it was.
As I watched it, it began to move slowly, to the right, and kept moving steadily to my far right, then curved to start coming directly toward our house (mom lives in the middle of the woods) and I was amazed to think it was coming straight towards our house, but it was! And as it moved slowly closer coming towards me, not making a sound, the distinct shape of the triangle with the amber lights at each point came into focus, and I wasn't hearing a sound! So I got excited and ran to tell my mother to hurry come out and look. She came out and we watched as it silently, slowly floated toward us getting larger.
And I kept teasing my mother asking
"What is it mom! What is it!!"
And she couldn't say shit except
"I don't know son, I don't know", she was freaking out, haha
And I kept saying, "Remember you've seen something now,
remember! You can't say you've never seen anything before!"
And I kept rubbing it in so she couldn't deny it later.
So she couldn't say she didn't remember or some bullshit.
And the thing floated closer growing larger than a football field.
And mom got scared and ran into the house afraid telling me to come inside too. But I was not scared at all, I was excited because I had been hearing about the floating triangles for years on Art Bell's radio program,
so I knew what it was when I saw it. And as it flew (floated, ha) over my head, the red blinking light on the bottom center was clear.
And It slowly floated over me and away and I ran out into the
yard behind it yelling at it to come back,haha, I really did!
But it just silently and slowly floated off into the distance and across
the back was a strobing white light that moved across the back from right to left within like a grid of rectangled boxes.
But anyways, some good video from Belgium just came out that clearly shows the thing. And also a Travel Channel television documentary
called "UFO Over Illinois" finally made it to Google (you should watch it, excellent), and it shows EXACTLY what I saw. So I got brave to make
this video and post it now, ha. I cut a segment from the movie with the relevent computer animation of the object. I remember
when I first saw the TV special, my jaw nearly hit the
floor when they showed the artist computer rendering of the thing,
because it was EXACTLY what me and my mom saw, with the strobe light going across the back, red blinking light in the bottom center, amber lights on the tips and all. And I remember I waited with bated breath for when they ask the military about all the sightings that night in Illinois, and guess what the military said...duhhh, nothing in the air that night. HAAA, dammit, I wanted to hit the TV, haha
But this craft is real, and I don't think it's alien at all but military (I live about 30 miles from the AFB),
but they're lieing about it. Yet, too
many people have caught it on video now (just YouTube "black
triangle" and there's 100 clear videos of it).
The video is one I spliced together of the Belgium video siting and the "UFO Over Illinois" segment.
I also added a recent well documented, not fake, siting over Lake Erie from February 2007. That actually made FOX News but of couse as usual

I was thinking.
The lady reporter says in the video that some witnesses don't want to talk about what they saw. Why is that? What's wrong with talking about something you've seen?
I was thinking we need to stop referring to these craft as being space aliens or extraterrestrial at all, and start calling them military or government crafts. Because people are clearly seeing and videotaping huge flying crafts. The family in this video clearly saw a craft. What was this? People should not be afraid of being ridiculed for stating the truth. It's crazy we can't call a spade a spade whether it be UFO's or questions about 9/11. Either our government is using our tax money to build these things and are lying, or they are something else. But either way, our Government knows what is going on and they are lying to us.
I think it would advance things if we start calling these things military and start putting some psychological pressure on our Government. Because if we call them aliens, the government can easily dismiss it and laugh it off.
For instance, we need to start saying, "Well, the Military was out again last night testing out some new craft, flying around all over our neighborhood. Did you see them? It was some beautiful technology! This was a circular plane with strobing rainbow lights all around, and it was perfectly silent, and hovered in midair. It was AWESOME! Our military is making some really good stuff these days! Did you see it?"
If we did this, then people would not be afraid to talk about what they've seen.
Not be afraid of being laughed at for telling the truth. Just state they saw some
military craft being tested out. Don't talk about aliens or extraterrestrial at all.

STEPHENVILLE — WFAA Channel 8- Over a three-month period this
summer there were 1,000 UFO sightings filed with the National
UFO Reporting Center.
Some 75 of those UFOs were reported over the state of Texas.
Stephenville is one hot spot we've shown you before.
Now the small town is getting buzzed by UFOs again and we have the video.
"You could see the oval shape. Got my friend, I said 'dude, you got to
come look at this,'" said Andy Monrreal.
Monrreal was hanging out with his Dublin High School friends when they
all saw something they say looked like a UFO.
"You could see a shape. It was like a complete circle," said Monrreal.

"I never seen nothing like that in my life. Big lights and everything," his father said.

"It was a round thing. You could see lights around it, flickering and changing. It was awesome. Just turning and flickering," she said.
Back in January, Erath County went UFO crazy after a handful of people reported similar lights over Stephenville.
International press and UFO hunters descended on the town.
This time, many more eye witnesses are phoning the Stephenville Empire Tribune or the ET.
Reporter Whitney Ashley said many people don't want to talk publicly, like several workers at the paper, who also saw the lights.
"I've got at least 10 right now willing to go on record," Ashley said.
"The sheriff's department got lots of calls in the southern part of Erath County."

The Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth confirms seven F-16s training in the area at the time.
Several witnesses told us they saw the fighters, after they saw the mysterious lights.
