It looks like the Thai government is in for a rough ride. Protesters converge on Bangkok to shut down a state-run TV station and to oust current leaders from office. Let's see what these demonstrations are all about.
STORY:
On Tuesday, thousands protested outside Bangkok's Government House and stormed the Thai state TV station, NBT.
The main force behind the demonstrations is the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD), who is accusing Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej of being a proxy for Thailand's ex-prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was toppled in a bloodless coup about two years ago.
[Kosit Sanguansak, Protester]:
"This government has no right to govern the country. Everyone here has a same thought as me, including the PAD, and that's why we have come out today."
A group of activists were able to push through police lines surrounding NBT's main headquarters, but the station is still broadcasting its signal using mobile units.
[Sompong Kanokpan, Protester]:
"I have come here to oust the government and also to shut down this TV station. This TV station has reported information that is not true."
One protester said that NBT TV did not have the people's best interests in mind.
[Booppa Tammarak, Protester]:
"This TV station is not a real voice of the people; rather, it is the voice of the government."
With the second anniversary of the September 19, 2006, coup against then Prime Minister Thaksin only three weeks away, the army said that it had no intentions of intervening to restore order.

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Obama campaign has told station WFTV-Channel 9 not to expect any more interviews until after the election.
According to a blog on the paper's Web site, this stems from a satellite interview the Orlando station's Barbara West conducted with Joe Biden on Thursday.
West asked the Democratic vice presidential nominee to defend whether the ticket's policies were "Marxist" and whether Biden's comments about Obama being "tested" early in his presidency were saying "America's days as the world's leading power are over."
During the interview, Biden reacted with surprise to the questions.
"Are you joking?" he asked at one point. "No," the anchor responded. Later, Biden said: "I don't know who's writing your questions."
The paper reports that the campaign then cancelled a planned interview the station had scheduled with Jill Biden.
"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, central Florida communications director for the campaign, according to the paper.

His voice was heard every half hour for a great number of years.
It was not a good recording but it served its purpose all those years.

This video here was just an extra, I hadn't set out to beat the TV station in 38 seconds - just that my strategy for this part was so effective, I realised I could do it with few hits taken, so after a few tries this video was the result. So, from struggling to get through this TV station, to come up with a strategy to beat it - which over half an hour of playing, I was figuring out the best way to beat this level (the video "killer tactics" was the result of about 10 minutes after discovering the strategy to beat this, and 2 hours later to develop that, this video was the result, and then the next day the whole mission without dying. It's all about tactics, and the how well those tactics are executed. I had practiced on this part for about 2 hours, trying various tactics, to try to find out a consistent way of beating this part. A strategy that had a high success rate. Because I was attempting to beat this whole mission without dying, and the outside battle was going well, but when I got to the TV station, my challenge would fail. So, the best way to approach this mission if you are wanting to complete it on veteran without dying - is look at it as 2 parts. The outside battle, then the TV station its important you are able to get through the TV station on most attempts. Once you are confident enough with that, and then try the whole mission to put it all together. For the first half hour of practicing this part, I had tried - unsuccessfully, going round the left approach (as seen in my other video - "quick play best tactics") But that approach is so much more difficult - it is flawed, because you are moving directly into those enemies coming out of that entrance - they have time to spread out and make life difficult for you - also, you are very exposed, not just from that group, but the enemies on the balcony can get a clear shot at you as soon as you move out from that door. Going round the right flank is much more effective, because you can neutralise that group as soon as they come out of that entrance - that is essentially the group you fight all through this tv station - apart from the enemies on the balcony. This tactic, moving around their right flank, taking out the initial group at that entrance, and moving your way around, while your marines move around the left flank, completing what is, essentially, a pincer movement.
My specs are: Pentium 4 CPU 3.4GHz, 1GB RAM, 256MB ATI Radeon X300 graphics card. Recorded using Fraps.
