LT35mm - p6. race - 80 sec
Part 6. Race. Demo footage of my DIY 35mm adapter and DIY dolly. shot with sony trv25 and nikon lenses. (basic CC in Premiere Pro). Due to crew shortages I had to do cameraman, focus puller and dolly grip job at the same time. it wasn't easy - that's why some problems with focus and smoothness can be spotted.

Death Star over San Francisco - 161 sec
Imperial Fleet Week. For those interested in how I made it: I shot the background video on a 1/3-chip DV camera (TRV25). The Star Wars vehicles are either 2D stills found on the internet, or video I roto-scoped out of the movies, which I then motion-tracked and composited in After FX. I used the trapcode particular plug-in for some steam and smoke effects, and did basic sound design and assembly in Final Cut. Thanks for watching! - Mike Horn

This is the beautiful painted from the Wonderwood Bridge of the Greenfield Creek marshlands. Also painted is a wood stork common in that area. The painting was done 12-22-07 on an 8x10 canvas panel in acrylics, also using a small palette knife to scrape out trees & brush. The photo at the beginning is the view I had of the area. It was time-lapsed using a Sony TRV25 in INTERVAL mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds). Thanks for watching, if you like it, please RATE it and leave me a COMMENT... THANKS!

Gary Garrett Painting Demo - Wild Flowers and Bee 8x10 oval - 140 sec
Last summer I did an on-site (plein air) painting of the Ortega River Bridge (see it on my 2007 review video). While there, I shot a photo of some wild flowers being visited by a bee. That's today's subject. It's an 8x10 oval acrylic painting on a stretched canvas from Hobby Lobby, framed with a metal frame from Walmart. It was painted in one sitting January 9, 2007. The colors and brushes used are shown at the beginning of the film... the darker colors are black, burnt umbra, cobalt blue and vandyke brown. It was a lot of fun to paint. It was time-lapsed using a Sony TRV25 in INTERVAL mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds). If you like this video or learned something from it, please RATE it by clicking on a star, and/or leave a comment ... THANK YOU FOR WATCHING... Take Care... ALWAYS KEEP PAINTING... it opens your eyes to see the world around you in a different light.

OIL PASTEL DEMO MARSH LANDSCAPE - GARY GARRETT PAINTING - 124 sec
This one is an 11x14 Oil Pastel drawing using Cray-Pas, Mungyo, and Loew Cornell oil pastels on Canson acid free paper #501 "Tobacco" color paper. This drawing was made from sketches made last summer around St. Augustine's marshlands off the intracoastal waterway south of the fort, and north of Matanzas. It was a nice change of pace from my other recent paintings. I use a technique that layers color on color, then smeared together... usually I would use a paper shading taper (tortillon) to smear it... but not having any right now, i had to use my "built-in" smear stick (my finger) LOL. It was fun to do a pastel again. Hope you like it. It was time-lapsed using a Sony TRV25 in INTERVAL mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds). If you do like it, please leave me a comment, and/or rate it by clicking on a star. the feedback has been great in letting me know what you want to see, or know, things that I may be able to help with. THANKS FOR WATCHING... KEEP PAINTING!

Painting Approaching Storm Clouds - Gary Garrett demo - 158 sec
This is a 10x14 painting of the approaching storm clouds over the field behind the Paddock Club Tuscany apartments in Mandarin Florida. The photo in the video shows the actual scene... the incoming storm clouds were magnificent with the setting sun behind them, and the multistory buiding adds tuscany ambience!! I used a small palette knife to scape out some brush and tree stalks letting the canvas show to simulate petite limbs. Painted 12-27-07, with lots of "artist's liberty" (LOL) The trail pictured actually leads down to a small fishing lake down behind the trees, the paved road to the apartments is off canvas to the right. Thanks for watching. It was time-lapsed using a Sony TRV25 in INTERVAL mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds). Rushing Branch Creek at sunset - Winsor & Newton Water Mixable Oil Paint - Gary Garrett painting Oil on Canvas panel Demo - 298 sec
Click on "WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY" - 8x10 canvas panel painted in the studio Aug 7, 2008 using Winsor & Newton Water Mixable Oil Colours - experiment #3. This is painted from a photo I shot on the way home from our August 2, 3008 paintout with FCPAP. It's the Rushing Branch Creek from the bridge that connects Alta and Yellow Bluff Roads. This experiment uses BOB ROSS' LIQUID WHITE as a base under the painting which I almost forgot to apply... LOL ( a REAL senior moment there!!). It appears to double the drying time... after two days of drying some areas are still wet to the touch, but it allows easier blending. This was DV taped using a Sony TRV25 camera set on interval mode at 1 sec every 30 seconds. If you like this video, please RATE it and/or leave a COMMENT. Your comments help me to understand what you would like to see from me. 36X24 ACRYLIC PAINTING DEMONSTATION PLEIN AIR - GARY GARRETT - 160 sec
THIS LOCATION HAS BEEN DEVELOPED INTO APARTMENTS AND CONDOMINIUMS NOW. SUCH A LOSS TO VISUAL ASTHETICS. Gary Garrett 36x24 acrylic on-site (plein air) painting time lapse (speed painting) landscape scene in Mandarin Florida, 9-30-07 painted on stretched canvas ... quickly before the rains began. I use several styrofoam plates as palettes on-site as I can stack them after use into a ziplock bag, so the paint doesn't get everywhere on the way home. Gary Garrett marsh painting demonstration-Greenfield Creek 2 - 125 sec
The marshlands of Greenfield creek are so beautiful this time of year, that I had to paint a different view of it. This is a small cove north of the Wonderwood Viaduct, with a cloudless sky. Painted 12-29-07 using acrylics on a 12x16 canvas panel... very windy there, hard to use a stretched canvas. If you know me, you know I like palm trees, so they are made more promenant in this painting. It was time-lapsed using a Sony TRV25 in INTERVAL mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds).
