| My Alternate Picking Guitar Warm-Up, Or - Various Trash Metal Lead Ideas - 91 sec
I actually recorded this in late 2006 (age 16) - I'm now uploading it August 08 age 18 lol - So it seems ages ago. My haircut is especially bad haha - but this is what I wrote about at the time, I still stand by it:
Ok just for the record - A) I was really out of practice (Like reeeeeeeeeally out, I'd only been playing for like 20 mins a day tops) and B) I'm no Joe Satriani! lol
I don't usually play metal anymore but heres loads of boring repetitive metal licks that all revolve around alternate picking random scales lol.
My galloping is a little sloppy here too... really sloppy but i didnt warm up before hand so for give me!!! - (Obviously, because this IS a warm-up lol)
P.S.) Apologies for bad quality - webcam video
P.S.S.) The chords at the start do sound out of tune, i don't need reminding. I think I left some of the strings open on the last chord and seeing as its a barred F lol it sounds awful. Forgive me lol. P.S.S.S!) The very first speed metal lick i play, - after the sloppy galloping - Is my take on the first lick Kirk Hammett plays in the song ''Battery'' by Metallica if you know it. It's across two strings but you cant really tell... you have to hit that B string as well for one note in the pattern. If you're a guitar player learn Battery now!!! - all the other licks here are improvised on the spot i don't know if they're my take on anything.
oh and please comment. Thankyou!!!! - But no smart Alec'y insults please... I'm not doing this to show off - I'm just trying to demonstrate my style. I don't care if you think you're better than me or if you think my playing is sloppy or whatever. - Get to know me before you think you have the right to show off and insult me on the internet.
