THE TEN TEC TITAN AMPLIFIER USES A PAOR OF 3CX800 CERAMIC TUBES AND CAN EASILY LOAF AT THE LEGAL LIMIT OF 1.5 KILOWATTS. THE ANTENNAS ARE 1/2 WAVE DIPOLES FOR 75 AND 40 METERS AND A FORCE 12 MODEL C3 TRAPLESS TRIBAND BEAM FOR 20-15- AND 10 METERS AND SINCE IT IS TRAPLESS IT CAN BE USED ON 17 AND 12 METERS WITH THE TUNER. a small demo of the FT857d radio in use. myself in QSO with G0OMH 01.03.2008. fiddling with the screen color & adjusting the RF level. the AGC is set at FAST. the DSP filter is on & the SSB filter is set to the factory Ceramic .. although ive fitted the Collins SSB filter it was not in use.
the audio was direct to dvd .. no mics.
the video was shot using our Hitachi MV750E dvd camcorder. u can compare the radios.

| Icom IC 735 - Squashing Plasma interference!!!! - 102 sec
Interference caused by Plasma TV on 80 metres. The problem is rife on all of HF but on selected frequencies.
This transciever can clean up 90% of it by using pass band tuning and the manual notch filter. This is in Sydney Australia (VK2).
