| Battle of Olympus Tool-assisted speedrun in 10:41 - 772 sec This video was made using an emulator at really slow speeds and using savestates (to undo mistakes countless times). It's meant as a demonstration of what is the fastest possible time, and has nothing to do with gaming skills.
Battle of Olympus (オリュンポスの戦い) improved by 9 minutes and 11 seconds, which means that the length of Arc's previous movie was almost halved.
This improvement consists of the utilization of a major glitch, pressing Left+Right at the same time for almost unlimited velocity growth. The trick is documented at Battle of Olympus Tricks.
The route used in this movie is decided by a few things the hero (Orpheus) must do:
Collect three heart pieces in order to activate the Tartarus entry.
Get a key to access the third heart location.
Get an eyeball of Graeae to see invisible doors (to access the second heart location).
Get a sword from the Spirit of Forest. It is needed to kill the three-headed guardian with respawning heads in Tartarus.
Collect 60 olives in order to buy an ocarina, which will be needed to cross the sea to get to Crete and Tartarus.
Get a harp in order to call Pegasus. It makes the route faster.
People often compare this game with Zelda 2 because of its similar gameplay.

| Super Mario 64 Tool-Assisted Speedrun - Zero stars - 373 sec At first there were 70 stars because Bowser demanded it. Then there were 16 stars because MIPS demanded it. Then there was 1 star because Bowser's Sub demanded it. Now there are none because the players at the site which made this movie are impatient and demanded the game be quicker.
This run is played with an emulator, slowdown and flagrant abuse of save-states to correct any minor mistakes. As a result, Mario is not being controlled by a mere mortal and he can consistently do things a real human cannot. Anyone posting comments to the effect that this video is cheated, photoshopped or that the player is the best player alive obviously hasn't read this description.
So sit back and watch Super Mario 64 be taken apart like it's never been before.

Tool-assisted speedrun (TAS)
- aims for fastest completion
- plays on hard mode
- takes damage to save time
The red crystals I collect help me speed up the fighting, but having 1 red crystal is needed for many parts of the game, which with 0 red crystals it's impossible to pass.
- 1 red crystal = learn sliding tackle
- 3 red crystals = better combo
- 6 red crystals = even better combo
- 9 red crystals = final combo
You'll notice that the screen flashes when 3,6 or 9 crystals are aqcuired, indicating that the set of moves has changed.
It's a TAS meaning it was played on an emulator using tools, such as savestates to undo mistakes and slowdown to allow precise input, to overcome human limitations. The objective of a TAS is to show the game pushed to it's limits, without the constraints of human skills and reflexes.

| Super Mario World - Tool Assisted Speed Run - 597 sec This is an edited video! Please read below for more information.
This is my tool assisted speed run on Super Mario World for the Super Nintendo. Played on the ZSNES emulator. Final time from pressing "1 Player Game" to the killing blow of Bowser is 11:25.
In order to shrink what was originally a video a little over 12 minutes in length to just under 10 minutes to fit YouTube's time requirements certain things have been cut from the video. (This was originally a private video to show friends and wasn't wanting to cut it up into two clips which I wish I had done now.)
1) The intro
2) Selecting a new game and 1 player mode
3) The "timer to points" countdown at the end of most levels
4) Castle #1 demolition scene.
5) The opening of the paths after finishing Star Worlds levels 1 and 2 plus most of the transition afterwards.
Many of the tricks and bug exploits used in the world record run I used myself, but this being only my second time performing a speed, I am not as skilled at doing these.
Tool Assisted Speed Runs is cheating in the essence that I'm cheating the system using reflexes that a human would not be able to do under normal circumstances. I am not, however, using any cheat devices or ROM/RAM hacking. What you see in this video can be performed in the real game on a real console if you have sufficient reflexes. | Contra III Tool Assisted Speed Run Part 2 - 592 sec I nearly halve the time on my previous tool assisted run through Contra III for the Super Nintendo. This time I'm aiming for speed. Still a little off from the record time.
Note: Tool assisted speed runs are not a form of cheating. No RAM modifications are being used (Game Genie, Action Replay, HEX editor, etc). Tool assisted just means the use of an emulator, save states, the ability to slow down and redo mistakes until you've made the 'perfect' run. | SuperMario64 - 1 star - Toolassisted - AKA & Swordless Link - 432 sec Super Mario 64 tool assisted speedrun. Only one star is collected. Numerous bugs are exploited to win with only 1 star.
Note that this movie was made on an emulator with slow-down and flagrant abuse of the save-state feature. Reflexes and precision of the players have been enhanced as a result.

This is one of the best TASes I've seen so far. Even knowing it's a TAS I'm still absolutely amazed by some of the tricks in here. Unfortunately 30 fps is insufficient to capture the awesomeness of the run or the game itself. Not a fan of splitting videos either.

| Tool Assisted Mario Paint - 203 sec Tool Assisted Mario Paint! Cette vidéo a été réalisée par mes soins à l'aide d'un émulateur de Super Nintendo.
