This is (again) a part of the improvised music that the ensemble NIMP played on november 19, 1998. In fact, these are the very first notes of that day and they show the percussive potential and possibilities of the group with the 2 very different but both fantastic drummers Thomas Calis and Fred van Duijnhoven that BA hoped to get when he asked these musicians. The result is a very rhythmical and powerful sound, in which the other instruments as different colours can "paint" constantly changing collective "images".
Besides Fred and Thomas it is Volkert Cannegieter on bassguitar, Frans Mathijssen on keyboard, Bo van de Graaf on sax and Bas Andriessen on guitar.

| "TWO & THREE" by Bas Andriessen/NIMP - 404 sec
On the 19th of november 1998 Bas Andriessen invited a few musicians with a very own sound and individual mentality to come and play together, because he "heard" a certain kind of music in his head with this new combination of players. The startingpoint was total improvisation, but to give the process some support BA brought some notes with him, being nothing more then melodies that could function as handholds. In this track the musicians improvise around the melodies "Two" and "Three".
A rough and overwhelming sound was intended. Violent. Raw. But pure.
Musicians are Bo van de Graaf sax, Fred van Duijnhoven en Thomas Calis drums, Volkert Cannegieter bassguitar, Frans Mathijssen keyboard and Bas Andriessen guitar.
