| "Lilac Time" (1970) - 195 sec
In the Spring of every year, Rochester, NY welcomes the season with it's famous Lilac Festival, held at Highland Park. Renowned park designer Frederick Law Olmstead was responsible for the development of the park. Among his other accomplishments was the design of New York City's famous Central Park. The park's lilac collection was started by horticulturist John Dunbar in 1892 with 20 varieties.
To honor this annual event, filmmaker Tom Nottingham and myself decided to make a short film about the lilacs in bloom. With a 16mm Bolex camera, we filmed the different areas of the park. To match the pictures, we found the old classic recording, "Jeannine, I Dream of Lilac Time" sung by Gene Austin in 1928. The combination was perfect. The film was shown on our local NBC affiliate. Originally shot in color, here is a B&W print of that project.

丸正自動車製造株式会社（まるしょうじどうしゃせいぞう、Marusho Motor Co., Ltd.）は、1948年から1967年まで活動した自動車製造企業である。
概要
本田宗一郎氏経営のアート商会浜松支店で従業員だった伊藤正が独立、1940年に自動車修理工場と自動車部品販売の会社「丸正商会」を創業したことに端を発する。その後伊藤は丸正商会を閉じ、一時本田の創業した「東海精機」に入社するが、戦後再度独立。1948年に自動車ボディーの製作業として「丸正商会」を再興した。
河島喜好(後に本田技研工業社長)の同級生で、同社のエンジン技術者だった溝渕定の進言によってオートバイ製造を決意。シャフトドライブを採用したライラック号を発表し、1953年3月の名古屋TT レース（中部地区のオートバイメーカー19社が、それぞれ3台のバイクを出場させるメーカー対抗形式のレース）において好成績をおさめる。更に1955年の浅間火山レースでは、19のメーカーが参戦する中、有力と目されたホンダやヤマハ・スズキを破って優勝、同社の技術力を世に知らしめた。
しかし、この頃から経営不振に陥り、メインバンクの大和銀行からスズキとの提携を持ちかけられるものの、伊藤は本田への忠義立てとして提携を拒否。三菱重工業へのOEMを引き受けて当座は凌いだものの、三菱が自ら二輪車製造に乗り出すと既に販売網を譲渡していたことから事実上市場から締め出された。再度スズキとの提携に動き出すも、スズキも経営不振で救済に乗り出せず1961年10月12日に倒産した。

Outline
The edge is originated in the establishment of Itousei who was the employee of company "Marusho company" of the auto repair shop and the auto parts sales in the art company Hamamatsu branch of ..Soichiro Honda.. management in independence and 1940. It becomes independent again after the war though Ito shuts the Marusho company, and joins "Tokai precision machine" in which this rice field is temporarily established afterwards. "Marusho company" was revived as a production industry of the car body in 1948.
For the classmate of Yorocos Kawashima (It is a president of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in the back), the motorcycle manufacturing is determined by the advice of Sadamu Mizobuchi who was the engine engineer of this company. The lilac title that adopts the shaft drive is announced, and when Nagoya TT racing in March, 1953(19 motorcycle manufacturer companies of the central part district race about the manufacturer opposition form to make three motorcycles participate respectively), the good record is governed. However, Ito refuses the tie-up as an act of loyalty to Honda though it has much financial difficulty from recent, and the tie-up with the sea bass is proposed by The Daiwa Bank in the main financing bank. When Mitsubishi voluntarily started the two-wheeled vehicle manufacturing, it was shut out from the market in fact because the sales network had already been transferred though OEM to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries was undertaken and it surpassed the interim. It began to move to the tie-up with the sea bass again, and the sea bass went bankrupt to the relief in the slumping business on it was not possible the to start October 12, 1961, too.
