Alright everyone,
I recommend that everyone reads Djholmes2001's comment before continuing.
Once and for all...it is ion wind!!! It is totally ok if you don't think so. The dialogue on this page so far has been great, and I really appreciate the comments that everyone leaves, but don't come on my page calling me an idiot (Dj Holmes). First of all, I doubt you hold a degree in physics or are even a natural science major.
The B-field effect? You're a retard. Do the calculations....I have approx 25,000 volts at very low current going through one turn of wire!!! I could create a stronger magnetic field (B field) with a 9 volt battery. Second of all, I can call up 5-7 PhD physicists right now that will all say the same thing, that it is ion wind.
Third of all, NASA has investigated this effect years ago and concluded that it is only ion wind. The NASA report link is posted below. Fourth of all, a scientist put an ion lifter in a high vacuum and the thing won't work. I included that link below as well.
Lastly, when I mentioned the weight issues, I was talking about balancing issues and that it was too heavy on one side...not that it was overall too heavy.. It would, at first, lift but would quickly collapse to one side. We were moving the wire away little by little to find the proper distance... We included the arcing footage because we thought it was a nice light show and people would like to see it. No other reason.
I just realized that Djholmes might have been referring to the Biefeld (and Brown) effect. Not B-field. Evidently his spelling skills are as "good" as his science skills. If this is true then he is even more stupid than I previously thought...the following is an excerpt from an article on the "BB effect"...
"In the process, thousands of impacts occur between these charged ions and the neutral air molecules in the air gap, causing a transfer in momentum between the two, which creates a net directional force on the electrode setup."
that is just a description of ion wind!!!
so if your talking about B-fields then your a retard, if you are talking the Biefeld-Brown effect your even more stupid because Biefeld-Brown is just ion wind.. and you don't understand squat!

The Universal Lifter from Universal Design Co., Ltd. is a nursing care bath chair that uses water pressure for lifting.
With the Universal Lifter, the caretaker no longer has to personally lift physically handicapped patients in and out of the bath. Instead, patients can be bathed by merely operating the hydraulic pressure valve with the patient seated on the seat.
The Universal Lifter rotates a full 360˚, so the patient can be smoothly moved from the shower space to the bathtub.
Because water is used, there is no need to worry about electric shock, and the device is also very quiet. The water fees to raise and lower a patient one time are around one to two yen, and there are absolutely no electric fees.
The Universal Lifter features a stainless steel body and a seat made of fiber reinforced plastic so it will always maintain its clean form. The installation work and water connections are also easy to do.
