Jazz Mutant's Lemur - it's a multi touch screen, midi and osc programable, musical controller. Here it is set up with a custom template I pieced together with my friend m.0 & from the template on their site - nothing to it - these are just some scrap sounds from a session we had the other night. The faders bring in the tracks and the buttons above the faders are record enable, solo, mute, and select. Everything else is pretty much set up to control whatever I might want. More to come...

this is a sequencer i programmed in max using the lemur as a control interface. it sends midi info to whatever program you use. i also forgot to mention that each track can have independent timings, so varitions can span longer than just 1 bar of music.

The Lemur is controlling the drum track with the track mute buttons on the left. The X-Y axis controllers on the right control the drum track filter and a simple white noise sweep.

The JazzMutant Lemur has many possibilities of controlling the built in objects from external sources. In this example Ableton Live is transmitting audio to a MaxMSP pluggo, which in turn translates the volume of that audio into OSC feeding sliders on the Lemur.
These sliders are dynamically updated with the volume of the audio, both by setting the value of the slider, and modulating the light.
The sliders represent the beat and the bassline, and the volume refleced in them is from the track they are controlling. If that wasn't enough the sliders can still be used to control parameters of Ableton Live, in this case a lowpass filter on the drums, and a hpf/delay combination on the bass.
