LEKEITIO (VIZCAYA). La villa de Lekeitio es un municipio español de la provincia de Vizcaya, País Vasco (España), perteneciente a la comarca de Lea Artibai con una población de 7.307 habitantes según los datos del INE correspondientes al año 2006. La extensión del municipio es de 1,90 km² por lo que la densidad poblacional es de 3.845,78 hab./km². Situada a orillas del golfo de Vizcaya en la cornisa cantábrica, Lequeitio es un destino turístico importante. Un paisaje privilegiado adornado con la isla de San Nicolás y la ría del Lea y con dos amplias playas hace que la tradicional fuente económica, la pesca, sea sustituida por el turismo.
