You and I are living things. We're part of a great big family pattern. Please CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING. Humans, scientists put living things in groups. For example, here's a giraffe which is so lot like a zebra, which is a lot like a horse. Now you know without looking that these animals have bones. And sure enough, horses have leg bones, rib bones, back bones, and skulls, uh, head bones. So to wait. But what do you make of these bones? They're from a dinosaur. Now when you look at them, the bones aren't all that different from hours. They've got leg bones, rib bones, back bones and head bones. Just like ours. (Watch it!) They fit the same pattern, but we can't really put these bones with these animals because they're no dinosaurs around. So instead we put them back--back in time! See, we know the dinosaurs once lived because we find their fossils all over the place. And they're not the only kind of fossils we find. Oh, no, we're like insect fossils, reptile fossils, plant fossils and fish fossils. All kinds of fossils of creatures that once lived in the ocean. There are tiny microscopic fossils that are ancient bacteria. Now here's the thing, when we look very closely at the DNA...Deoxyribonucleic Acid. Chemical instructions that are in all of our cells. We find that all of these living things have the same patterns of chemicals. So near as we can tell, all of the living things on Earth came from just one kind of living which lived billions and billions of years ago in the ancient ocean, what we call the primordial soup. So we've been looking for patterns and living things. And we discovered "evolution." Evolution. We discovered a pattern in time. Whoa! Well, thank you for joining me on CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING. Using a buffalo leg bone, then a cow leg bone to demonstrate direct percussion in making a clovis point. The main point of this video is to show the different stages of using blending flakes to straighten and lower edges slightly while working in series in order to set up edges for rapid reduction using isolated platforms. I also wish to show that non antler percussors are very effective tools. It makes sense to me that many cultures would have more access to these bones than they would antlered animals for billets. There are subtle differences in platforms, and flake surfaces produced by bones, but they are very similar to antler. Bones such as these lower leg bones, once seasoned, make very quick tools and do not require the work to prepare before use that antler does. However, they do not last as long as antler because they are pithy under the outer layer of bone.

| Tribute to Riojasaurus. - 226 sec
Riojasaurus (meaning "Rioja Reptile") was a herbivorous prosauropod dinosaur named after La Rioja Province in Argentina where it was found by José Bonaparte. It lived during the Late Triassic and grew to about 10 metres long (33 ft). Riojasaurus is the only known Riojasaurid to live in South America. Riojasaurus had a heavy body, bulky legs, and a long neck and tail. Its leg bones were dense and massive for a prosauropod. By contrast, its vertebrae were lightened by hollow cavities, and unlike most prosauropods, Riojasaurus had four sacral vertebrae instead of three. It probably moved slowly on all fours and was unable to rear up on its back legs. The nearly equal length of the fore and hind limbs is also suggestive of an obligatorily quadrupedal gait.

| Shaolin Monk Demonstrates Kung Fu Squatting Stance (Pu Bu) - 149 sec
The stretching the master demonstrates for this stance accompanies flexibility for horse stance well. In China the people squat very often - on the side of the road, toilet, cleaning, etc. You don't see so much of this in the West, and as a result, hip flexibility and leg alignment are often poor, leading to weak stances and frequent accidents when force is applied to the ankle knee, and hip joints, and is not carried through the bones correctly. Notice how flexible the master's ankle on the outstretched leg is, when he's deep in the stance.
A good way to check on the general health of your ankles is to stand with your legs a shoulder-width apart, with no shoes on, and look at how your lower leg bones connect with the foot. If you can see the bone going off to the side of the foot (normally to the instep of the foot in most people), then you will need to do some work on your general joint alignments. Walking on the edges of the feet is a good place to start; to get the ankles re-adjusting. Ma Bu (horse riding stance) I have been told (by a very experienced and martially competent taichi/bagua/hsing-I teacher) is the best for sorting the general leg alignments out; especially the hips. Yuffie is a foster Shiba Inu with Shiba Inu Rescue Association. She is 8 months old and has grade 4 luxating patellas (loose knees) in both her rear legs. What this means is that the grooves in her legs where knee caps normally fit in dogs are non-existent in her legs. Her knee caps are locked out of position and even when manually moved back into place pop right back out. This is caused by bad and careless breeding. Yuffie was born in a puppy mill.
SIRA is currently fundraising to get her the surgery she needs to put her knees back in place and straighten out her leg bones which have already begun to deform. If left untreated, Yuffie would eventually loose the ability to walk all together. We are commited to keeping that from happening.
As you can see in this video, with her knee caps out of place she is unable to extend her legs properly. She stands in a crouched position, limps when she walks and bunny hops when she runs. Surgery will correct this but we need your help to raise the $1,600 is will cost.
