Leafs lose 5-4 in the shootout to the St.Louis Blues.
Despite a 3-goal lead after the 1st, and an amazing backhand goal by rookie Nik Kulemin, the Leafs lose 5-4 in the shootout (2-1).
With the game at 3-1 Toronto, Ryan Hollweg got a game misconduct for boarding. A suspension is guarunteed. On the ensuing five minute major, the Blues scored two goals, tying the game.
After briefly holding the lead in the 3rd on a goal by Niklas Hagman, the game was sent to the shootout. The Blues won two goals to one.
The Leafs are now 1-1-0-1 on the season.
The the KHL, Rangers prospect and Russian phenom Alexei Cherepanov died at the age of 19.
While sitting on the Omsk bench, Cherepanov suffered a heart attack. He was just 19.

The 0-0 draw was just the 8th since the NHL introduced the shootout in October 2005.

I watch IN PERSON the Leafs lose 3-2 in shootout to the Ducks.
After capping off a brillaint comeback in the 3rd, the Leafs made an odd decision, switching to CuJo in the shootout. While CuJo is historically better in the shootout than Toskala, who is historically quite bad at them, Joseph haden't been a part of a regular season shootout in quite some time because of his time in Europe, and he was coming off the bench cold.

A preview of the Leafs upcoming season.
Songs are "Better Days" by the Goo Goo Dolls and "Push It" by Garbage.
I couldn't fit all the players in the new faces part of the video, so I only put in the Leafs first two picks this year, and left out the players that will likely be in the AHL (Deveaux, Stapleton and Boumedienne). I'm also uploading this video quickly. Van Ryn was left out because I put this up before he was a Leaf, and Kulemin wasn't in it because I was just trying to put in their acquisitions.
For anyone saying I stole their idea...I was inspired by djdannyc's Leafs Trailer, the Buffalo Sabres 06-07 playoff video and the NHL 2000 intro. I didn't steal ideas from anyone's preview videos, I've been working on this video since March now, so you can put that to rest. However, anyone who's clips I did use, you can take credit for it in the comment if you want.
This video was also originally much longer. I was going to put a full second song in showing highlights of Toronto against the Senators, until I realized that, well, the Leafs weren't playing the Senators to start the season. And there weren't nearly enough Detroit-Toronto clips to make a full other song, so I took the original song I was going to use, and made my Toskala video.
Like usual, any Leafs bashing will lead to either extreme flaming from me and or having your comment taken down.
