In April of 2008, BBC World News America went to Memphis to do a feature story about race relations in America. The producer, Brian Gottlieb, was able to get an interview with Amy LaVere and she was kind enough to perform one of her songs for the cameras at Sun Studios. This is an outake from that feature and is take two of two. The song was shot by Ron Skeans with the second camera and editing by Bill McKenna.
Amy LaVere is an American singer, songwriter, upright bass player and actress. Her music is classified as Americana, combining a blend of classic country, gypsy jazz, and southern soul. She has released two albums on Memphis label Archer Records, and has multiple acting credits in major motion pictures.
