I know I promised an advanced pushup video next, its halfway done - filming the video wiped me out with all the retakes so I couldnt finish it in one session.
This video shows how to do barbell rows. Dont attempt these if you have lower back problems, stick to the pullups. While we are on the subject of pullups, these barbell rows are no substitute for pullups. When it comes to building lats, pullups are king!
Keys to good form on the barbell row:
1) keep your back motionless
2) keep your abs flexed and tight to support your lower back
3) make sure to breathe, dont hold your breath
4) pull the bar to your hip, not your shoulders
5) use a slow, smooth motion - no jerking
By the way, I know I screwed up twice and said "dumbbell row" where I meant "barbell row". I didnt bother re-filming becuase I figured it wouldnt cause any confusion.

| Killer Home Back (Lats) Workout - 334 sec Here is a killer 45 minute back workout that you can do at home with just a set of dumbbells and a pullup bar. This is an back (lats,latissimus dorsi)workout for the advanced bodybuilder, if you are new to bodybuilding please check my website for a more appropriate workout.
Make sure you have done warm-up sets for both biceps and triceps before starting this workout because we start in with really heavy weights and you don't want to get injured.
Intensity and focus are really important when you do this workout. Don't hold back anything, treat every set as if it were your last. I know I sound stupid with all my grunting and groaning but when I give it 110%, I can't help it. Here is the workout:
Superset 1: Wide grip pullups and dumbbell rows
Superset 2: Alternating grip pullups and dumbbell pullovers
Superset 3: Narrow grip pullups and bent over dumbbell rows
Repeat the above 5-6 times, the complete workout should take about 45 minutes. If you don't like reconfiguring the dumbbells all the time you can also just do each superset combo 5X and then move on to the next combo. This workout should be done once every 5-7 days depending on your age.

Dumbbell rows are a simple exercise you can do at home for lats, all you need is a padded chair and a dumbbell. This exercise, when done in conjunction with pullups, makes the core of a great home back workout.
The key to getting maximum results from this exercise is to use perfect form, no bouncing allowed. When doing this, concentrate on keeping your torso completely motionless and only moving your arm up to your hip.

| bodybuilding exercise: pullups for lats - 30 sec video clips showing proper form for the pullup exercise. This is the key exercise for building your lats if you are doing home workouts. If you are advanced, you can hold a dumbbell between your knees for more resistance but only do it if you can maintain good form.
As with any dumbbell exercise, form is key if you want to maximize your muscle building efforts and minimize the chance of injury. Don't use too much weight, if you can't do the exercise slowly then you need to go lighter. Count aloud "one onethousand, two onethousand, three onethousand" on the way up and the way down, if you cant do this on this exercise then you are using too much weight. The reason this exercise method maximizes your muscle growth is because it confines the motion to the muscle you are trying to work out, if your body squirms, swings, and kicks, all you are doing is taking the focus away from the muscle you are trying to exercise.

Dumbbell pullovers are an old school exercise which you can use on a variety of work out days.
They are a great heavy load for the long head of your triceps.
My favorite use for dumbbell pullovers is to finish off a chest back superset workout.
You can also perform triceps extensions at the end of your set to work more triceps.
Make sure you keep your arms slightly bent, your elbows in towards each other and don't drop the 85 lb. dumbbell on your head.

Straight arm pull downs are all about discipline. They are an advanced movement because 95% of people who perform them do them terribly.
To perform straight arm pulldowns correctly you must either keep your arms slightly bent or completely straight and have absolutely no movement at the elbow joint.
At the end of the movement your shoulders must be retracted (squeezed back together) to fully recruit the target muscle (latissimus dorsi)
Straight arm pull downs are a good finisher for lats. Use a light weight and correct form with straight arm pull downs or you are wasting your time.

It consist of: Pull Ups with weight tied to my waist (max wt 60 pounds, going down to 10 pounds), Horizontal Barbell Rows, Cable Machine Pull Down (heavy), Single arm dumb bell row (with 70 pounds) and Hammer Row Machine. I find the Pull Ups or the Chin Ups the most gruelling and best lats developer. After each set, I do a lot of lat stretches.
