It's a pulsed 808nm (near infrarred) laser system. A fast example of paper burning using a pulsed laser.
This machine output is capable to delivery up to 180J/cm2/seg. For this video I choose 40J/cm2 for a single 20ms pulse.
Please do not ask me to burn another things with this laser: I'm sorry but I WILL NOT collimate this beam to make videos. I cannot imagine how dangerous an accident can be.
Just a particular example: I've never seen a fly or insect in the laboratory of my work due to the high density of energy in infra-red form that this laser emits: The flys are killed by the indirect impact of high energy IR pulses.
Also the optics -and the laser itself- are extremely expensives and I don't wanna break anything ;-)
