This is one of our favorite English continuo songs. The poem is by Thomas Carew and was set to a wonderful chaconne ground bass by Nicolas Lanier. We perform this as we believe it was intended; as an accessible bit of sung poetry rather than a concert show piece.
Thanks Danny, for your technological expertise, without which we'd still be waiting for the pressing of the 78 RPM record to come back from the factory!

Robert "Bob" Jerry Lanier, Jr. (born September 10, 1948, in Buffalo, New York), is a retired American professional basketball player for the Detroit Pistons and Milwaukee Bucks of the NBA. He played competitively at Buffalo's Bennett High School where he graduated in 1966, and collegiately at St. Bonaventure University, in Olean, New York.
Lanier was drafted number one overall by the National Basketball Association's Detroit Pistons and was named to the All-Rookie Team following the 1970-71 season. He starred for Detroit until being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in 1980. In his five seasons with the Bucks, they won the division championship each year. The same year he retired, in 1984, he was awarded the Oscar Robertson Leadership Award.
In his 14 NBA seasons, Lanier averaged 20.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game while shooting a respectable 51.4 percent from the field. He played in eight NBA All-Star Games, and was named Most Valuable Player of the 1974 game. Lanier was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame and had his #16 jersey retired by both the Pistons and the Bucks.
In 1994-95, he became interim head coach of the Golden State Warriors for 37 games after Don Nelson stood down, in which he compiled a 12-25 win-loss record.

Lanier Yak 54 ( 94" ) with a DL-100, JFX 27 X 10 prop, weight is 26 1/2 lbs. The DL-100 rips the prop at wide open leverl flight. This was my first flight and I shot 3 landing approaches and it didn't seem like it wanted to slow down. I greased one in ( not the best , but not bad ) and the stock wheels blew off the rim which caused a bent landing gear along, exploded wheel pants, and a broken prop tip.

| Striped Bass triple on Lake Lanier !!! - 273 sec
Another exciting clip jigging for Striped Bass. My son Jonathan is reeling in a Striped Bass and then my buddy Rick gets hooked up. Both are using light spinning tackle. I grab the only rod left, a heavy trolling setup, and I too get hooked up. Rick didn't get to hold Jonathan's up but it was 18 lbs. Ricks was 12 lbs and mine was 17 lbs. What a rush! Catching Striped Bass directly under the boat on artificials is a lot of fun!! All fish were released and swam away.
