In de herfstvakantie hebben meer dan 150 bedrijven uit West-Brabant in het kader van het KvK-project Testbaan stageplaatsen ter beschikking gesteld voor scholieren uit het beroeps- en voortgezet onderwijs. In totaal keken 200 leerlingen, van in totaal 23 HAVO/VMBO en VWO-opleidingen, in de keuken bij een bedrijf van hun keuze. Voor de bedrijven was het een goede gelegenheid het eigen bedrijf of de branche te promoten bij scholieren, zodat ze later beter aan personeel kunnen komen.

Woensdagochtend 15 oktober 2008 was het om 07.30 uur al een drukte van belang op het parkeerterrein van Mobiliteitscentrum Autoschat aan de Florynwei 5 te Burgum. HAB Veenwouden, HIM Kollum, Ondernemend Hurdegaryp, HIMBO Burgum, ONOF, NOFCOM/ROC Friese Poort en de gemeente Tytsjerksteradiel waren vroeg uit de veren voor de KVK kennistour ontbijtbijeenkomst. Met deze regio activiteit in de vorm van een regiodiscussie wil de Kamer haar zichtbaarheid voor de ondernemers in Noordoost Friesland vergroten. Om 09.30 uur ging iedereen opgetogen naar zijn/haar werk, vooral omdat de auto's glimmend en schoon opgehaald konden worden.
Volop werk
De ondernemers in de regio Noordoost Friesland hebben volgens de voorzitter van de Ondernemersfederatie Noordoost Friesland, de heer Jan de Vries, volop werk. Dit ondanks de huidige financiële crisis die ook onze regio aangaat. Uit ervaring blijkt dat de bedrijvigheid in onze regio in 2008 hier naar alle waarschijnlijkheid nog niets van merkt.
Arbeidskrachten
Wat wel merkbaar is het feit dat gekwalificeerd personeel moeilijk te vinden is (bijvoorbeeld koks). Een goede verstandhouding tussen bedrijven en onderwijsinstellingen is dan ook een must. Sommige bedrijfstakken hebben een eigen leerbedrijf zoals het SPOS voor de schildersbedrijven. Onlangs is er op verzoek van een aantal horecabedrijven een speciale studie gestart in samenwerking met ROC Friese Poort (locaties Sneek en Drachten).
Regeldruk
Lokale gemeenten voeren regels uit voor de rijksoverheid. Uitdaging voor gemeenten is volgens burgemeester Polderman van de gemeente Tytsjerksteradiel dat ambtenaren meedenken met ondernemers om deze regels snel toepasbaar te maken. Volgens De heer Jan Schat van het gelijknamige autobedrijf in Burgum is de verhuizing van Tytsjerk naar Burgum in goed overleg verlopen. Volgens Jan de Vries, voorzitter van de ONOF, werkt men in NOFA verband momenteel hard om de regeldruk voor ondernemers te verminderen. Ook openbare aanbesteding van projecten is een voorbeeld van regelgeving door de rijksoverheid.
Regiomarketing
Er zijn talrijke initiatieven in de regio op het gebied van regiomarketing. Er wordt veel over gesproken, maar concrete activiteiten zijn niet of nauwelijks merkbaar. Een van de initiatieven is www.noordoostfriesland.nl gericht op regiopromotie voor de eigen inwoner op basis van de thema's wonen, werken, leren en recreëren. Ook met activiteiten als de Keltische dagen in Kollum zetten we ons als regio Noordoost Friesland op de kaart.
