This is the second in a series of trailers for "Superman: The Last Son of Krypton," a sequel to "Superman: The New Movie." This film series is based on the "Smallville" storyline, but is not a direct continuation of "Smallville" and there are several plot and character elements which will differ from established series continuity. As I did at the beginning of the last campaign, I will address the appropriate ones here:
CLARK KENT/SUPERMAN: Clark finds himself questioning his place in the world with his guilt over bringing more mayhem to Earth than he prevents culminating in the recent catastrophes connected to Lex's activation of the octagonal disc. The Kryptonian technology overloaded Luthorcorp's military systems resulting in a near nuclear disaster, and Lex himself-a victim of information overload by the way of the disc-currently lies in a comatose state. When Brainiac arrives offering him not only a compelling adventure across the universe (and away from Earth) but also a deeper connection to his home planet than he'd ever thought possible, Clark can't help but consider his proposal. Until he realizes the supercomputer's true intentions...
CHLOE SULLIVAN/LOIS LANE: Being the keeper of Clark's secret is no easy burden to bear, and although it puts a strain on their relationship, Chloe certainly doesn't want to see him leave the planet. She serves (along with the Kents) as a grounding voice of humanity for Clark in his struggle over whether or not Earth is where he truly belongs.
LEX LUTHOR: The activation of the octagonal disc caused an overload in Lex's cerebral cortex, leaving him in a comatose state with no end in sight. However, it also served as a homing beacon for Brainiac, and the supercomputer has ambitious plans for Lex-or at the very least, his body...
BRAINIAC: A Kryptonian artificial intelligence, the Brain Interactive Construct was drawn to Earth by the activation of the octagonal disc. It recognizes Kal-El as a powerful ally, and attempts to recruit him to it's ends. Despite it's initial benevolence, it is eventually revealed to have played a role in the destruction of Krypton. Requiring a new base of operations, it seeks to transform Earth into a New Krypton. To accomplish its goals it requires a human vessel: Lex Luthor.
That's the backstory. Here's the plot of "Superman: The Last Son of Krypton":
Brainiac arrives on Earth, in response to Lex's activation of the octagonal disc. Clark is initially intrigued and tempted by his offers of exploration and Kryptonian knowledge, but after going to Jor-El for counsel learns of the supercomputer's true nature. Brainiac sets into motion a series of environmental cataclysms transforming Earth into a New Krypton to serve as a new base of operations. Clark works to reverse the disasters and protect Earth, but is faced with an even greater challenge when Brainiac possesses Lex's body for use as a super-powered human vessel.

As Krypton nears destruction, scientist Jor-El tries to discover a way to save the doomed planet. This episode tells of Clark's arrival on Earth and his transformation into Superman. This pilot episode was once aired as a one-hour episode instead of three smaller parts.
The Kryptonian scientist Jor-El is collecting data from an ice field on the planet Krypton. After obtaining the samples he needs, Jor-El escapes after encountering an attacking creature and an earthquake. After analyzing the data, he discovers that building pressure from Krypton's core will eventually destroy Krypton. The computer Brainiac, which is in charge of all major operations on Krypton, denies this. Jor-El is unable to convince the rulers of the impending doom. When Jor-El tries to confront Brainiac, he notices that it is downloading all the data it has collected about Krypton. Brainiac orders the police to detain Jor-El, but Jor-El manages to evade them. Once home, he and his wife Lara send their only son Kal-El into space just before the planet explodes. Brainiac had escaped into a satellite just before.
Kal-El arrives in his spaceship on Earth and is adopted by Martha and Jonathan Kent. Martha decides to adopt the baby despite Jonathan's protests, and names the baby Clark. When Clark grows up, he realizes that he has extraordinary physical capabilities and can see through walls. He rescues a person after a gas station accident, and his friend Lana is surprised that he was not burned. When Clark shows Jonathan his ability to melt metal, Jonathan reveals to him his extraterrestrial origins.
Lex Luthor is presenting LexCorp's new battle suit robot when it is stolen by terrorists. Superman manages to capture two of them, but the one with the battle suit escapes after one of the terrorist's missiles damages an airplane's wings. Soon, reports of the strange new entity start appearing on the news, and Lois is told to try to get an interview with him. Later, the terrorist who stole the battle suit, John Corben, starts to wreak havoc, but Superman manages to defeat it after a tough battle.
Meanwhile, some aliens retrieve the satellite which Brainiac is in, Brianiac kills the aliens and takes over their ship.
