King's Quest 1 was designed by Roberta Williams and published by Sierra On-Line in 1984. In this video, you can see the PC MS-DOS demo of the enhanced version done in 1990.

The Story
King Graham has suffered a heart attack and is on the brink of death. The good fairy Genesta contacts Rosella through the magic mirror and offers her assistance. Genesta teleports Rosella to the land of Tamir, where she learns about a magical fruit that can heal her father.
However, Genesta herself is in a weakened state because the evil fairy Lolotte stole the talisman that gives Genesta power. If Rosella cannot return the talisman to Genesta, the good fairy will be unable to help her return to Daventry in time to save her father. So in addition to finding a way to obtain the magic fruit, Rosella must win Lolotte's trust. She is told she must perform three tasks for the evil fairy, after which she has the opportunity to recover the stolen talisman.
Can you complete the quests? Will you find the fruit? Will it even save your father? Or will you just go home empty handed?

This is a highly re-edited version of what you see and hear in the game King's Quest 6. King's Quest is one of the more popular adventure games made by Sierra On-line. This video does not accurately depict its gameplay, but rather, it is ment as a spoof. I've been trying to get better at using Sony Vegas so that I can ween myself off of a crappier editing program. This is an attempt to exhaust all possible ways to lose in King's Quest VI. Part 2 consists of the remaining clips on the Isle of Wonder.
I have opted to show only the results that specifically result in a Restore/Restart/Quit screen, although there are many other ways to make the game unbeatable (but not this early in the game). When I group several clips together, that means each of the clips has the same result from that point onward, and I show that result only on the last such clip. In this case, there are five different unique losing sequences with the black widow (I show one twice because there are two ways to trigger it).

There is a glitch in the game where you can get an extra point for giving the bowl to the woodcutter without reading it first, so this playthrough ends with a final score of 159/158 points.

| King's Quest VI - Ways to Lose - Part 1 of 10 - 599 sec
"Whew! I was so lucky to survive that awful storm last night. Now I can go back out there and look for my friends..."
This is an attempt to exhaust all possible ways to lose in King's Quest VI. Part 1 is clips of Alexander drowning offshore of the Isle of the Crown, and then 11 ways to fail while dealing with the Isle of Wonder gnomes.
I have opted to show only the results that specifically result in a Restore/Restart/Quit screen, although there are many other ways to make the game unbeatable (but not this early in the game). When I group several clips together, that means each of the clips has the same result from that point onward, and I show that result only on the last such clip.
I call it "Ways to Lose" rather than "Ways to Die" because there are several ways to lose the game even though Alexander doesn't actually perish (same goes for KQ5).
The possibilities are much harder to exhaust in this game than in King's Quest V. KQ5 had a few instances where multiple means would achieve the same result, but usually one method would trigger the full effect so I only had to show that one most of the time.
In this game, however, it is often the case that each method has at least one line that is different from the alternatives. In this clip, the gnomes even say different things depending on whether you use the wrong object or just stand there like the dunce you are.
Furthermore, there is a unique line for when Alexander plays the flute for Big Ears. I am not currently aware of any other items that trigger a unique losing response though.
NOTE: The peppermint leaves do NOT have a unique effect on Big Mouth, positive or negative. It's just referred to as a generic "item" (and the gnome even says he doesn't like how it tastes!).
