Public Enemy, also known as PE, is a hip hop group from Long Island, New York, known for its politically charged lyrics, criticism of the media, and active interest in the concerns of the African American community.
In 2004, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Public Enemy number forty-four on its list of the Immortals: 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.[2] Acclaimed Music ranks them the 29th most recommended musical act of all time and the highest hip-hop group.[3] The group was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame in 2007.

Donald McNichol Sutherland OC (born July 17, 1935) is a Canadian actor with a film career spanning over 50 years.[1] He is currently working in the American television series, Dirty Sexy Money. Sutherland's most notable movie roles included offbeat warriors in such war movies as The Dirty Dozen, in 1967, and M*A*S*H and Kelly's Heroes in 1970, and an overly optimistic health inspector in Invasion of the Body Snatchers in 1978.
In the early to mid-1960s, Sutherland began to get small parts in British films and TV, landing notable roles in horror films with Christopher Lee, such as Castle of the Living Dead (1964) and Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965) and twice appearing in the The Saint, firstly in the 1965 episode The Happy Suicide[3] and then, more auspiciously, in a story called Escape Route at the end of 1966.[4] The episode was directed by the show's star, Sir Roger Moore, who later recalled that Sutherland "asked me if he could show it to some producers as he was up for an important part... they came to view a rough cut at the studio and he got The Dirty Dozen.[5] Thus, Sutherland was on course for the first of the three war films which would be his initial great successes: The Dirty Dozen in 1967, with Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson; in 1970, as the lead Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce in Robert Altman's M*A*S*H (film); and, again in 1970, as tank commander Sgt. Oddball in Kelly's Heroes, with Clint Eastwood and Telly Savalas. Sutherland had an intimate relationship (on and off screen) with actress Jane Fonda during the filming of the Academy award-winning detective thriller Klute.[6]
Sutherland and Fonda went on to coproduce and star together in the anti-Vietnam war film F.T.A. (1972), consisting of a series of sketches performed outside army bases in the Pacific Rim and interviews with American troops who were then on active service. Sutherland found himself in demand as a leading man throughout the 1970s in films such as the Venice-based psychological horror Don't Look Now (1973), the war film The Eagle Has Landed (1976), and as the ever-optimistic health inspector in the sci-fi/horror Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) alongside Brooke Adams and Jeff Goldblum.
He also received acclaim for his performance in the 1976 Bernardo Bertolucci Italian Fascism epic 1900 and for his role as the torn father in the Academy award-winning family drama Ordinary People (1980) alongside Mary Tyler Moore and Timothy Hutton.
He played the part of fellow Canadian countryman Norman Bethune—a physician, humanitarian, and hero in China—in two separate biographical films in 1977 and 1990. A prolific actor, some of Sutherland's better-known roles in the 1980s and 1990s were the South African apartheid drama A Dry White Season (1989), alongside Marlon Brando and Susan Sarandon; the firefighter thriller Backdraft (1991), alongside Kurt Russell and Robert De Niro; and as the snobbish NYC art dealer in Six Degrees of Separation (1993), with Stockard Channing and Will Smith. In the 1991 Oliver Stone film JFK, Sutherland played a mysterious Washington intelligence officer who spoke of links to the military-industrial complex in relation to Kennedy's assassination. He also guest-starred in an episode of The Simpsons, "Lisa the Iconoclast" (interestingly, he had previously played a character named Homer Simpson in The Day of the Locust). He starred as Wilhelm Reich in the video to Kate Bush's 1985 single, Cloudbusting. In 1995, Sutherland was cast as the evil Maj. Gen. Donald McClintock in Wolfgang Petersen's thriller movie Outbreak, also starring Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, and Rene Russo. Donald was later cast in 1997 (for only the second time in his career) with his son Kiefer in Joel Schumacher's award-winning crime thriller "A Time to Kill," based on the bestselling book written by John Grisham. Kiefer was nominated for portraying the best villain, awarded by MTV.
In more recent years, Sutherland has been noted for his role as Reverend Monroe in the civil war drama Cold Mountain (2003); in the remake of The Italian Job (2003); in the TV series Commander in Chief (20052006); and in Pride and Prejudice (2005), starring alongside Keira Knightley. He earned an Emmy nomination in 2006 for his performance in the TV movie "Human Trafficking."
Sutherland currently stars as Tripp Darling in the prime time serial Dirty Sexy Money for ABC.Sutherland's distinctive voice has also been used in many radio and television commercials, including those for Volvo automobiles. He is also the spokesperson for Simply Orange orange juice. Most recently he played multi-millionaire Nigel Honeycut in the Warner Bros. film Fools Gold Auteur : kayvontv Tags: donald sutherland tiff toronto kayvon interview | | Andre 3000 Benjamin of Outkast meets KayvonTV - 111 sec http://www.kayvontv.com/
Andre 3000 Benjamin of Outkast meets KayvonTV.
What a great treat it was to meet Andre "3000" Benjamin at the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. I attended the Battle in Seattle premiere to try to catch a glimpse of Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, and André Benjamin.
I got to ask Andre a bunch of great questions regarding Stankonia, his partner Big Boi, and his sombrero among other things.
André 3000 (born André Lauren Benjamin on May 27, 1975 in Atlanta, Georgia) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, rapper, hip hop producer and actor. He is half of the successful hip hop duo OutKast and is also the creator of Cartoon Network's Emmy-winning show Class of 3000.
OutKast are an American hip hop duo based out of East Point, Georgia, a city south of Atlanta, Georgia. Their original musical style was a mixture of Dirty South and G-Funk; since then, funk, soul, pop, electronic music, rock, spoken word poetry, jazz, and blues elements have been added to the group's musical palette. The duo consists of Atlanta native André "André 3000" Benjamin (formerly known as "Dre") and Savannah, Georgia-born Antwan "Big Boi" Patton.
The duo is one of the most successful hip-hop groups of all time, having received six Grammy Awards. Over 20 million copies have been sold of OutKast's eight releases: six studio albums, a greatest hits release, and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, a double album containing a solo album from each member. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is one of only four hip-hop albums to be certified Diamond in the U.S. for shipping over 10 million units. Along with OutKast's commercial success, they have maintained an experimental approach in their music and are widely praised for their originality and artistic content.[1]

The Toronto Maple Leafs are a professional ice hockey team based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The organization, one of the "Original Six" members of the NHL, is officially known as the Toronto Maple Leaf Hockey Club and is owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE). They play at the Air Canada Centre (ACC). The Leafs are well known for their long and bitter rivalry with the Montreal Canadiens, and more recent rivalry with the Ottawa Senators. The franchise has won thirteen Stanley Cups, eleven as the Leafs, one as the Toronto St. Patricks, and one as the Toronto Arenas.
Valued at $413 million (2007), the Leafs are the most valuable team in the NHL, followed by the New York Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings.[1]
Withrow Park is a 21 acre park in the Riverdale neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.[1] Laid out and constructed in the 1910s, at the same time that the surrounding community was built, Withrow Park is among Toronto's large multi-purpose parks. The park is bounded by Carlaw Avenue on the east, Bain Avenue on the south, Logan Avenue on the west and McConnell Avenue on the north.
Withrow Park is named after John Jacob Withrow (1833-1900), a local landowner and builder, who also served as a city alderman and was one of the founders of what would become the Canadian National Exhibition.[2]
The park gained nation-wide notoriety in 2004 when hot dogs laced with carbofuran were left in the park, killing one dog and poisoning 15 others.[3] While the poisonings were under criminal investigation, the City closed most of Withrow Park by surrounding it with a chain-link fence,[4] causing controversy in the neighbourhood. No charges were ever laid.[5]
In February 2008, the Toronto Maple Leafs ice hockey team held a practice in Withrow Park, to mark the recent refurbishment of the park's ice rink and related facilities.[6]

Wanna Be Loved - Akon ft. Colby O'Donis & Imaan Faith *...
It didn't take long for Imaan Faith to become one of hip-hop's most innovative personalities, bringing with him a story that sounds like a folktale from his Muslim heritage. Born and raised in politically-charged Iran, he was immigrating to New York in the early 1990's that first brought rap culture to Imaan's attention. Often donating food to youth centres across the city from his family's new Tehran cookery, Imaan began seeing comparisons between the poverty of minorities in America and those in his former home of the Middle East. Upon hearing Imaan attempting to freestyle political lyrics like Tupac Shakur with homeless youth at a Brooklyn shelter one evening, Ali G. Shaker was so convinced of his brother's talent that he sold their family car the next morning to buy studio time for Imaan's first demo tape called "I Got GUTS."
Fleeing to Canada in the late 1990's to avoid anti-Muslim hate crimes that began spreading in New York, Imaan's family was shocked to find similar anti-Muslim sentiments among students in some of the Toronto schools Imaan and Ali G. attended, which soon led to Imaan being placed in a detention facility for repeated fighting. Yet when a drug dealer appointed himself Imaan's personal bodyguard after hearing him freestyle to fight off anti-Muslim inmates, Imaan began to see hip-hop as a true calling and spent the rest of his incarcerated months writing dozens of songs ranging from aids awareness ("You Got A Choice") to current events ("Letter For Tookie").
Upon Imaan being freed Ali G. resorted to selling the new family car, this time using the finances to launch G.U.T.S. (or "Growing Up Tehran Style"), the world's first Iranian-owned rap record label which has since collaborated with the likes of of rap legends Mopreme Shakur and Big Syke (Thug Life), Tupac producer Johnny 'J', reggae phenomenon Snow, and renowned DJ Clinton Sparks among others. With the help of hip-hop activist Deejay Ra the G.U.T.S. label has also sponsored charitable CDs featuring songs and PSA's written and performed by Imaan to raise donations for the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund and Tookie Redemption Foundation.

Well Folks, Cirque du Soleil recently stopped down in this great city of ours for a 11 day stint at the Air Canada Center, bringing with them their brand new urban themed arena spectacular, "Saltimbanco".
Saltimbanco -from the Italian "saltare in banco", which literally means "to jump on a bench"-explores the urban experience in all its myriad forms: the people who live there, their idiosyncrasies and likenesses, families and groups, the hustle and bustle of the street and the towering heights of skyscrapers. Between whirlwind and lull, prowess and poetry, Saltimbanco takes spectators on an allegorical and acrobatic journey into the heart of the city
Thanks to my very good friends at Flip Publicity, the KayvonTV cast and crew had the very special opportunity to catch the 49 performer ensemble gearing up for their Toronto show, which played the ACC from Wednesday August 13th to Sunday August 24th, 2008.
If you missed "Saltimbanco" @ the ACC, don't worry folks, it is still now on a limited run @ Hamilton's Copps Coliseum, "Saltimbanco" will then visit Amherst, MA, Buffalo, NY, Trenton, NJ, Minneapolis/St-Paul, MN, Milwaukee, WI, Highland Heights, KY, and Honolulu, HI before concluding this tour.
If you want more information on "Saltimbanco" showtimes and locations, or if you would like to order tickets to see "Saltimbanco" when it comes through your town, please visit the Saltimbanco website today!

We I managed to make a most suprising discovery - that there is another CFL team very few people had even heard of - The Atlantic Schooners. Who knew?
The Atlantic Schooners was a conditional Canadian Football League expansion team in 1984, to play out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Schooners folded before they played a single game because the owners of the team (led by J.I. Albrecht) couldn't secure the financing for a new stadium for the team. Since there was (and still is) no CFL caliber stadium in Halifax the team had no choice but to fold. Since then there have been endless rumours of a stadium being built in the area and with it, a CFL team.
One urban legend around the Halifax area is that the old scoreboard from the New England Patriots stadium is in a warehouse in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, left there awaiting the proposed stadium. Another legend is that J.I. Albrecht had already bought turf for the stadium. When the club folded he took the turf and threw it into the Atlantic Ocean.

GWAR is a satirical heavy metal musical group formed in 1985. The band is best known for their elaborate sci-fi/horror film inspired costumes; raunchy, obscene, politically incorrect lyrics; and graphic stage performances, which consist of humorous re-enactments of political and moral taboo themes. The band also performed fire dancing until the character "Slymenstra Hymen" left the band. Their costumes are generally made of foam latex, styrofoam, and hardened rubber. It should be noted that the costumes cover very little, with the rest of their bodies accentuated with makeup. They further their production in concert by spraying their audiences with imitation fluids. Most of the fluids are made of water and powdered food coloring which, for the most part, flakes off or washes out easily. The thicker fluids are made from a clear seaweed extract called carrageenan which is also used in ice cream and milkshakes. [1] GWAR does not use syrups or stage blood due to the fact that they dry solid, wrecking their costumes.[2] In concert, GWAR has been known occasionally to perform their encore without costumes.
Another trademark of GWAR's live show is their lampooning of celebrities and figures in current events. Victims of GWAR's antics have included O.J. Simpson, John Kerry, Mike Tyson, George W. Bush (as well as every other President since Ronald Reagan), Jerry Garcia, Osama Bin Laden, Michael Jackson, Al Gore, Paris Hilton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Adolf Hitler, and many others. The band also makes frequent references to political and historical figures, fantasy literature, and mythology. For instance, the song "Whargoul" makes reference to Minas Morgul as well as the eternal warrior of Michael Moorcock, GWAR also has many references to H. P. Lovecraft themes (Antarctica, Yig, Giant Penguins, Fleshy Insanities, etc.) as well as Warhammer 40,000 (Plasma Cannons, Plague Infection, Barges, Slaanesh Chaos Champions obsessed with pleasure and violence). In addition, the title of their fifth album RagNaRok comes from Norse mythology.

Kayvon of KayvonTV.com meets Mr.Hockey Gordie Howe at the 2007 NHL Awards in Toronto.
Gordon "Gordie" Howe, OC (born March 31, 1928 in Floral, Saskatchewan) is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada who played for the Detroit Red Wings and Hartford Whalers of the National Hockey League, and the Houston Aeros and New England Whalers in the World Hockey Association. He is often referred to as Mr. Hockey, and is generally regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, being most famous for his scoring prowess, physical strength, and longevity.
Howe made his NHL debut in 1946 at the age of 18, playing right wing for the Detroit Red Wings. He quickly established himself as a great goal scorer and a gifted playmaker. Using his great physical strength, he was able to dominate the opposition in a career that spanned five decades. In a feat unsurpassed by any athlete, in any sport, Gordie Howe finished in the top five in scoring for twenty straight seasons. It is said that a Gordie Howe hat trick was a goal, an assist, and a fight. Surprisingly, this feat was only accomplished once in his career on December 22, 1955.
Although famous as #9 during his long career, 18-year old Gordon Howe actually wore #17 throughout his rookie season with the Detroit Red Wings in 1946-47.
Howe led Detroit to four Stanley Cups and to first place in regular-season play for seven consecutive years (1948-49 to 1955-56), a feat never equaled in NHL history. During this time Howe and his linemates, Sid Abel and Ted Lindsay, were known collectively as "The Production Line", both for their scoring and as an allusion to Detroit auto factories. Howe had been in his prime during a defensive era, the 1940s and 1950s, when scoring was difficult and checking was tight.
As Howe emerged as one of the game's superstars, he was frequently compared to the Montreal Canadiens' Maurice "Rocket" Richard. Both were right wingers who wore the same sweater number (9), were frequently contenders for the league scoring title, and could also play rough if needed. During their first encounter in the Montreal Forum, when Howe was a rookie, he knocked Richard down with a punch after being shoved. The Red Wings and Canadiens faced off in four Stanley Cup finals during the 1950s. When Richard retired in 1960, he paid tribute to Howe, saying "Gordie could do everything."
The Red Wings were consistently contenders throughout the 1950s and early 1960s but began to slump in the late 60s. When Howe turned 40, in 1967-68, the league expanded from six to twelve teams and the number of scoring opportunities grew as the game schedule increased. Howe played the 1968-69 season on a line with Alex Delvecchio and Frank Mahovlich. Mahovlich was big, fast, and skilled, and Delvecchio was a gifted playmaker. The three were dubbed "The Production Line 3"
After twenty-five years, a chronic wrist problem forced him to retire after the 1970-71 season, and he took a job in the Red Wings front office. At the beginning of 1972, he was offered the job as first head coach of the New York Islanders, but turned it down.[1]
A year later, he was offered a contract to play with the Houston Aeros of the newly formed World Hockey Association, who had also signed his sons Mark and Marty to contracts. Dissatisfied with not having any meaningful influence in the Red Wings' office, he underwent an operation to improve his wrist and make a return to hockey possible, and he led his new team to consecutive championships. In 1974, at the age of 46, Howe won the Gary L. Davidson Trophy, awarded to the WHA's most valuable player (the trophy was renamed the Gordie Howe Trophy the following year).
In the final season of the WHA, Gordie had the opportunity to play with Wayne Gretzky in the 1979 WHA All-Star Game. The format of the game was a three-game series between the WHA All-Stars against Moscow Dynamo. The WHA All-Stars were coached by Jacques Demers and Demers asked Howe if it was okay to put him on a line with Wayne Gretzky and his son Mark Howe.[2] In Game One, the line scored seven points, as the WHA All-Stars won by a score of 4-2.[2] In game two, Gretzky and Mark Howe each scored a goal and Gordie Howe picked up an assist as the WHA won 4-2.[2] The line did not score in the final game but the WHA won by a score of 4-3.

With all the new recently about the Gene Simmons Sex Tape, it was really great to be able to dip into my KayvonTV archive and present to you footage of when I met Gene Simmons and The Franks Energy Drink Girls @ 711 in Toronto Canada.
Gene Simmons often boasts of having slept with more than 5,000 women but, luckily for us, we've never had to confront physical evidence of his supposed sexual prowess. Sadly, our days of blissful ignorance are numbered: a sex tape allegedly featuring the KISS rocker has hit the Web.
A website is purportedly hosting a sex tape featuring the 59-year-old Simmons with a blonde model named Elsa. For a mere $10 US, KISS fans can allegedly watch the aging lothario get it on in all his nasty glory at GenesSecret.com, which features a short trailer of the clip on its homepage. The site includes the tagline "Watch the sex tape Gene doesn't want you to see" (though we're pretty sure they meant "Watch the sex tape Gene wants you to think he doesn't want you to see, but really YOU'RE the one who doesn't want to see it.")
To the delight of cheap perverts everywhere, an extended, NSFW clip of the t-shirt clad geriatric seducing a flip-flop wearing, unenthused hottie has since been leaked to other sites. (The version we saw was set to Foreigner's "I Wanna Know What Love Is," which we can only hope was the website's brilliantly hilarious addition and not, in fact, Simmons' seduction song of choice.)
Simmons, who's been dating Playboy model Shannon Tweed since 1985, is reportedly angry about the tape and questioning its authenticity.
The rocker reportedly met his alleged co-star while carrying out promotional duties as a spokesman for Frank's Energy Drink. The company, which claims its drink promotes stamina and vitality, will likely be on the lookout for a new pitchman after viewing the lackluster video.

KayvonTV interviews Maestro after The Public Enemy concert @ Canadian Music Week featuring a sick freestyle by Maestro.
Maestro is the stage name of Wesley Williams (born 1968 in Toronto, Ontario), a Canadian hip hop artist and actor. His pioneering status and outstanding achievements have led to him being referred to as the "Godfather of Canadian hip hop". Originally known as Melody MC,[1] he changed his moniker to Maestro Fresh Wes by 1989. This was shortened to just "Maestro" in the late 1990s.
In 1989 he became the first Canadian rapper to have a Top 40 hit, "Let Your Backbone Slide". As of 2007, "Let Your Backbone Slide" remains the best-selling Canadian hip hop single of all time, and the only ceritfied gold single in Canadian hip hop history. 18 years after its release, Maestro's debut album, Symphony in Effect (1989), remains the top selling Canadian hip hop album of all time; at 190,000 units sold, it is 10,000 shy of double platinum. On Maestro's song/video "Nothing at All" (Black Tie Affair, 1991), he acknowledges this feat, rapping:
"My first album, symphony in effect went platinum/ in Canada that made me the first Black one/ to achieve that goal, I even got offered a movie role. Hunh, I turned it down, I didn't wanna be no star portrayin' a nigga that dwelled behind bars..."
After the success of his 1991 album, The Black Tie Affair, Maestro's career faltered as he attempted to break into the United States market. However, he returned to the Canadian charts in 1998, with the hit singles "Stick to Your Vision" and "416/905 (T.O. Party Anthem)".
In 2005, Maestro covered Lawrence Gowan's song "A Criminal Mind" (featuring Infinite); Gowan appears in the video and his vocals are sampled on the track. Gowan also performed the song with Maestro at the Canadian Urban Music Awards in 2006.
In 2006 Maestro again made Canadian hip hop history when he and Rochester AKA Juice joined The Dope Poet Society on stage in Cannes, France. Together, they become the first Canadian hip hop acts ever to showcase at Midem, the world's largest and most influential annual music industry conference.

Season 2 Episode 2
The term 'Ghetto' was originally used to refer to the Venetian Ghetto in Venice, Italy and then in Jewish ghettos in Europe, where Jews were required to live. The corresponding German term was Judengasse known as the Jewish Quarter. In Moroccan Arabic, ghettos were called mellah. The term came into widespread use for Ghettos in occupied Europe 1939-1944 with severely constrained conditions, where the Nazis required Jews to live prior to transporting them to concentration and death camps.
A 20th century American co-opted usage of the term informs us that ghetto is a section of a city occupied by a sub-group who live there, especially because of social, economic, or legal pressure. The term "ghetto" is now commonly used to refer to any poverty-stricken urban area. In the U.S, "Rural ghetto" is used to describe mobile home parks, farm labor housing tracts, and Indian reservations. Urban neighborhoods where Mexican immigrants settled in the late 20th century (called barrios) are said to be comparable to ghettos, because most immigrants are clustered in culturally isolated enclaves.
Parkdale is a neighbourhood in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is bounded on the west by Roncesvalles Avenue, on the north by Fermanagh Avenue from Roncesvalles on the wes to the rail lines leading south-east to Dufferin Street, where it meets the railway at Queen. It is bounded on the east by Dufferin Street from Queen Street leading to the south and on the south by Lake Ontario. This section is roughly one square kilometre in area.
It was founded as a village in 1879, joining Toronto in 1889. It was an upper income residential area for the first half of the 20th Century, with several notable mansions. The area changed dramatically with the building of the Gardiner expressway, creating a barrier between the neighbourhood and the lakeshore. This led to both an outflux of prosperous residents west, and a decline in the economy. Most of the residential buildings remain, but the composition of the residents is much different, including a higher proportion of lower incomes. The innflux of Crack-Cocaine also hurt Parkdale starting in and around 1987. Today, it is a working class neighbourhood, having problems associated with poverty, prositution and drug use but is also an area of considerable artistic activity.

I really enjoyed last night's Grammy Awards (The 50th Edition!!)
It was a real treat to see great artist's like Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Kanye West, Tina Turner, Ringo Star, Akon, and Rihanna perform.
Props to my main man Herbie Hancock for taking home the Best Album nod.
Herbie aside, the story of last night had to be Amy Winehouse.
Her live from London set was the talk of Hollywood today and her face appeared on nearly every paper across the nation.
Now before I decided to check myself in to a self induced Amy Winehouse Rehab, I decided to hit the streets of Toronto to find out the real people's reaction to this major news story.

The Grammy Awards (originally called the Gramophone Awards)—or "Grammys"—are presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States for outstanding achievements in the record industry. The awards ceremony features performances by prominent artists, and some of the more prominent Grammy Awards are presented in a widely-viewed televised ceremony. The current President of the Academy is Neil Portnow. The Grammys are considered the highest music honor, the U.S. record industry's equivalent to the Academy Awards (Oscars) for motion pictures.[citation needed]
Prior to the first live Grammys telecast in 1971 on ABC (CBS bought the rights in 1973 after moving the ceremony to Nashville, Tennessee; the American Music Awards were created for ABC as a result), a series of taped annual specials in the 1960s called The Best on Record were broadcast on NBC.
The award show is normally held in February. The 49th Grammy Awards ceremony took place on February 11, 2007 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. Nominations for 2008's awards were announced on December 6, 2007, and the 50th Grammy Awards ceremony was held on February 10, again at the Staples Center.
As of 2006, the eligibility period for the Grammy Awards begins October 1.
