In Judaism Serpent Seed, as it is now called among Christians, has been taught for several thousand years among certain sects of Judaism, appearing for example in the 9th century work Pirke De-Rabbi Eliezer. In modern times, it is a highly controversial doctrine followed mainly by Kabbalists. Rabbi David Max Eichhorn, in his book Cain: Son of the Serpent, traces the idea back through early Jewish Midrashic texts and identifies hundreds of Rabbis who taught that Cain was the son of the union between the serpent and Eve. Kabbalist Rabbis also commonly believe that both Cain and Abel are both of a different genetic background than Seth. This known among Kabbalists as "The Theory of Origins". The theory teaches that God created two "Adams"(Adamah means MAN in Hebrew). To one he gave a soul and to the other he did not give a soul. The one without a soul is the creature known in Christianity as the serpent. The Kabbalists call the serpent Nahash (nahash means serpent in Hebrew). This is recorded in the Zohar: "Two beings [Adam and Nachash] had intercourse with Eve, and she conceived from both and bore two children. Each followed one of the male parents, and their spirits parted, one to this side and one to the other, and similarly their characters. On the side of Cain are all the haunts of the evil species; from the side of Abel comes a more merciful class, yet not wholly beneficial -- good wine mixed with bad."(Zohar 136) This passage is the basis for all Kabbalist belief in a serpent seed type doctrine. Kabbalists believe that Eve was a female serpent and also without a soul, so that Abel was half pure and Cain was entirely impure. This varies with the Christian version in which Eve does have a soul and is not a serpent.

The video starts with "The Music of Moses" - a spontaneous lyre improvisation, based on an ancient Egyptian pentatonic scale, dating back over 3000 years ago... This scale was deciphered by the late Professor Hans Hickmann of the Museum in Cairo, from ancient Egyptian tomb illustrations representing a system of musical notation quite commonly used in antiquity, called called "Chironomy"; this is a system of hand gestures which were used, to denote both the pitch and ornamentation of a melody. The 19th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev is celebrated as the "Rosh Hashanah of Chassidism." It was on this date, in the year 1798, that the founder of Chabad Chassidism, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812), was freed from his imprisonment in Czarist Russia. More than a personal liberation, this was a watershed event in the history of Chassidism, heralding a new era in the revelation of the "inner soul" of Torah. The public dissemination of teachings of Chassidism had in fact begun two generations earlier. The founder of the Chassidic movement, Rabbi Israel Baal Shem Tov (1698-1760), revealed to his disciples gleanings from the mystical soul of Torah which had previously been the sole province of select Kabbalists in each generation. This work was continued by the Baal Shem Tov's disciple, Rabbi DovBer, the "Maggid of Mezeritch"--who is also deeply connected with the date of "Kislev 19": on this day in 1772, 26 years before Rabbi Schneur Zalman's release from prison, the Maggid returned his soul to his Maker. Before his passing, he said to his disciple, Rabbi Schneur Zalman: "this day is our yomtov (festival)." Rabbi Schneur Zalman went much farther than his predecessors, bringing these teachings to broader segments of the Jewish population of Eastern Europe. More significantly, Rabbi Schneur Zalman founded the "Chabad" approach -- a philosophy and system of study, meditation, and character refinement that made these abstract concepts rationally comprehensible and practically applicable in daily life. In its formative years, the Chassidic movement was the object of strong, and often venomous, opposition from establishment rabbis and laymen. Even within the Chassidic community, a number of Rabbi Schneur Zalman's contemporaries and colleagues felt that he had "gone too far" in tangibalizing and popularizing the hitherto hidden soul of Torah. In the fall of 1798, Rabbi Schneur Zalman was arrested on charges that his teachings and activities threatened the imperial authority of the Czar, and was imprisoned in an island fortress in the Neva River in Petersburg. In his interrogations, he was compelled to present to the Czar's ministers the basic tenets of Judaism and explain various points of Chassidic philosophy and practice. After 53 days, he was exonerated of all charges and released. Rabbi Schneur Zalman saw these events as a reflection of what was transpiring Above. He regarded his arrest as but the earthly echo of a Heavenly indictment against his revelation of the most intimate secrets of the Torah. And he saw his release as signifying his vindication in the Heavenly court. Following his liberation on Kislev 19, he redoubled his efforts, disseminating his teachings on a far broader scale, and with more detailed and "down to earth" explanations, than before. Kislev 19 therefore marks the "birth" of Chassidism: the point at which it was allowed to emerge from the womb of "mysticism" into the light of day, to grow and develop as an integral part of Torah and Jewish life.

Still makes me shudder to remember the program. Jan was placed in a trance laying on the stage. Kim Clement, long curly hair, dressed in black, was chanting and prophecying. Jan got up as quivering in emotion and made a pyramid with her son. They stood at an angle with their hands clasped and pushed up as far up as possible. It looked like a pyramid. Pentagrams were floating over the stage with lighting effects. They must have fixtures that are pentagram shaped and when the light shines through them, they make pentagrams on the stage floor and whereever they shine the light, over the audience and on the walls. Kim Clement began to prophecy: "I'm blotting out, says the Lord.. something is happening.. addressing Jan Crouch, you are the salvation of the world. Receive it.. come oh.. we need it.. we need it.. A breakthrough for you.. a miracle.. new wine.. lift your hands to him and worship. Dreams & Their Meanings Ian spoke with professor and dream therapist Rodger Kamenetz about his book, The History of Last Night's Dream, in which he explores the interpretation of dreams from a spiritual perspective. Kamenetz believes "every dream has huge potential to help us unlock deeper levels of feeling." Kamenetz described two schools of dream interpretation gathered from his study of the Old Testament: one represented by Jacob, who dreamed of angels ascending and descending on a ladder to heaven (see Genesis 28:10-17), and another illustrated by Joseph, the biblical figure with a gift for dream interpretation (see Genesis 40). He also discussed the role of dreams and dream interpretation in the Bible. Kamenetz analyzed one of Ian's dreams in which he cheated on his wife with a prostitute in order to save his sons from sleeping with her, as well as shared his own dream involving a police officer who stopped him while he was riding a bicycle. Kamenetz said the dream meant he had a problem relating to men, specifically a lack of connection to his father. He also talked about his studies with an 87-year-old female kabbalist in Jerusalem and, in the final hour and a half, spoke with callers about their dreams.
