| Re: Re: "I Did Not Know You Could do THAT with Free Web Tool - 122 sec Hey Beth, Very cool to play the You Tube conversation game. You are embodying to me one of those characteristics of how to move through this fast-paced tech world-- diving in and figuring things out (which is why I grimace at the notion of "training"). Anyhow, bouncing my response back to you! Tag! Auteur : cogdog Tags:k12online06 conference presentation |

| Re: Re: "I Did Not Know You Could do THAT with Free Web Tool - 285 sec I got curious when my son told me that they learned about Earthquakes in school. So, we made a video of us watching some clips on YouTube. Auteur : kanterbeth Tags:k12online06 conference presentation |
| Re: YouTube Conversation Game & Community Tagging - 215 sec Here's my points:
* There is a difference between conversation and an interview. I think YouTube's social design lends it self better to a back and forth interview/conversation between two people - if we're just talking to each other in front of the camera. Your volleyball analogy or perhaps tennis is more appropriate.
* With more than one person, it gets messy - like a conversation in text. That's why a moderator/facilitator techniques are important - like summarizing the key points, encouraging other people to participate, etc. Also, some people may not want to take the time to make a video, but follow the conversation - so having text points can help.
* If we were just sharing our creative videos back and forth - and having "visual conversation" and remixing each other's work - that would be different. Isn't that how a lot of young folks are "talking to each other" on YouTube? And is it just us "digital immigrants" that are doing talking head back and forth?
* Community tagging - stick in there. Connect with natural behavior - find the taggers already tagging your content, display the results, pick a compelling theme, seed the group. Auteur : kanterbeth Tags:k12online06 conference presentation |
