PK's (Preacher Kids) from the San Francisco Bay Area, Tamar, Joanna, Rebecca, are taking the gospel music scene by storm, particularly young people, as they inspire and encourage them with the message of Jesus Christ. They have shared the stage with gospel and contemporary Christian artists such as Tonex, Mary Mary, The Newsboys, Yolanda Adams, Barlowgirls, Karen Clark-Sheard, Keirra "KiKi" Sheard ,John P. Kee, Skillet, Beverly Crawford, and Daryl Coley. In 2003 they were voted best Ensemble Group by the Bay Area Gospel Academy Awards.
Their debut release "It Still Remains" was recorded on the Alpha 7 Ministries label, and is in rotation on major radio networks across the country, including SGN "The Light", ABC Rejoice, and Radio One. It is also included in the Top 20 of gospel releases by independent artists by several radio stations and gospel industry magazines.
Citing musical influences of Mary Mary, Out of Eden, Kim Burrell, and The Clark Sisters, the project contains 10 songs, all original material ranging in variety and style that has found favor with Contemporary Christian, Holy Hip-Hop, Traditional Gospel, and Christian Inspirational audiences. It is capturing the attention of young people of all cultures and backgrounds, particularly the selections "Balm In Gilead", "Thank You", and "War". The cross-culture appeal of this project is evident in the selection "Jesus Is Coming Soon" in which they transcend language barriers by singing portions of the song in Spanish, with guest percussionist Juan Escovedo (brother of Sheila E.), helping them capture a Latin flavor.
Coming on the heels of their CD release is this DVD "Live From the San Francisco Christian Center". This DVD captures the ministry of Jus-B-Cuz "live". Hosted by Marshalen Martin (KDYA), and SGN "The Light's K.D. Bowe, it was a night of thanksgiving, praise, and worship as they engaged a capacity crowd in this worship experience.
