| Suzuka GT5:Prologue vs Real Life - 84 sec
Side by side videos of (almost) one lap at Suzuka in GT5:Prologue and real life, driven by Schumacher. The Prologue car is the Ferrari F1 2007, while Schumacher is driving (presumably) the 2006 F248. Source videos from YT, original GT5 driver unknown. Schumacher is actually the faster driver so I had to speed up/slow down the GT5:P video in order for it to keep up with the real life video while making sure every part of the track is reached at the same time. The time modifications on the video are almost undetectable as they were never beyond +-10%.

The Ferrari F2007 in GT5 Prologue. Only had the game for about 4 or so days, played it nearly non stop and finally completed all of the races, and saved up the 2M credits.
Sorry about my poor driving (no traction control or ASM switched on and not using a wheel) and also about the quality of the video. It was filmed using my digital camera with the game being played on a 28" HD TV.

My mini-review on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for PlayStation 3.
I was using a rubbish mic during this so I have put a translation for any people that find it hard to understand:

OK,I've gotta switch to the microphone because I wanted to concentrate on the game,as I said.I'm booting the game up now.I'll give a mini-review of this,you know,when it loads.You should know Gran Turismo 5 Prologue its a demo of Gran Turismo 5.There was also a demo of the Prologue released on the Japanese store.This was actually my second play,because I did film me buying a car and stuff but Sony Vegas was being fussy and Sony Vegas crashed my entire computer.I am pissed with Sony Vegas right now so...that was the intro movie that you just saw but I skipped it.It gives you all these bogus messages about date and time for some reason.I'm going into News now I think...yep.News is basically where the developers of the game,Polyph...PolyPhony...however the hell you wanna pronounce it.Theres one news on there now about the servers being down from tonight at 9pm.This game was also released on the PlayStation Store,well it hasnt been released on the PlayStation Store yet but it should have been.This game does have an installation procedure,puts 6GB on your HDD for some reason.What am I doing now,what am I doing now..I'm going into Arcade mode and choosing the first track,High Speed Speedway or something like that.I did most of this stuff on my first play so the only thing youve missed is me buying a car really.When I bought a car,I didnt h\ave a bloody clue as to what I was doing.First thing you see about this game is the graphics are absolutely beautiful,if you want a game to show off your HDTV then this is it.I was just trying some camera views there you got your standard camera views.
The rest of the game is basically the same as other Gran Turismo games,its a driving simulator.I am good at arcadey driving games but I am rubbish at simulators.I c\ant remember what place I came on this first time.The soundtrack is pretty good even though I've only heard two songs.Engine sounds sound exactly like they did in GT4.I did surprisingly well on this actually.I dont know whether you can hear the sound or not.I cant see the HUD.When you fiirst astart the game you have got to install a 2-hour update.I havent played online yet.I think I've said everything now just filling time really.I am actually using my SingStar microphones for this.I've just finished...I was 6th.Thats a replay that I very quickly skipped.This is me going into the options menu to see if I could sort out the date and time but I cant.Just enjoy the music...
OK.I am out of it now I am saving.And I think this is it now..yep.Final thoughts:get this game,get this game if you own a PS3,its a good tech demo.

It's a new game, people want to know how the physics have changed...I'm testing the game physics out. I'm not running time trials.
Playing GT5 Prologue with the Logitech G25 wheel.
Day 1 of demo.
I started out playing the game first by exploring the drifting side of it. Its just something that I enjoy most so it began this way. I'm an avid fan of drifting in games and real life drifting as well. I do so with my car in real life as well. Wanted to give out that background information some before going on.
Playing the game with a 900 degree driving wheel is the ideal way of experiencing GT5. I have not even tried playing with the controller yet, so my review is all based on using the Logitech G25 wheel. I've applied the same techniques here to the game that I would have in real life at the race tracks with my S2000. Granted I take more risk in the video game :)
After playing this for two days now I feel very good about the physics engine. The developers have done a fantastic job improving on GT4. I can't even play GT4 the same anymore after playing this! I don't want to play GT4 after this!
Serious.
GT4 had good fundamentals, I'm not bashing it, just using it for comparision. I still have love for that game too, but GT5 Prologue Demo has definitely improved on the driving dynamics in regards to braking, tire grip and feel, understeer to oversteer transitions, countersteering and throttle steering control. With only having two days playing time, by playing the game with the Logitech G25 wheel with simulation mode and all driving aids off, I can immediately feel the improved physics. You're punished as you would in real life for powerovering, over correcting and countersteering mistakes. You're punished for coming into a corner too hot and not giving yourself enough braking distance. You will understeer when your front tires don't receive the proper transitions to give it grip. It takes time to get comfortable, I've been playing Gran Turismo with wheels for a long time, so give it time in the game if you think the game has it all wrong, just keep practicing. I feel the game has it right.
The driving physics in the game are the best they have ever been for console games.
