I set up Zidane and Quina as follows:
Zidane: Dagger, Bandana, Mythril Armlet, Chain Plate, Germanis Boots
Quina: Needle Fork, Feather Hat, Bone Wrist, Silk Robe, Yellow Scarf
Ability Up, Millionaire
These and the previous set ups are all for the 5 AP I'm about to receive. Namely, Zidane will receive 10 AP for Flee, leaving just 1 more point before he masters it. The guide suggest to equip Zidane with the Yellow Scarf, but this is just for learning Bird Killer. I'll learn it well before I need it.
The Antlion battle can go kind of fast or really fast. The kind of fast way is for Quina to cast Auto-Life on him/herself, get KOed and use Limit Glove. Auto-Life will always revive the fallen with 1 HP, which is nice. Antlion has a moved called Sandstorm, which changes the HP of the entire party to a random value between 1 and 10. The really fast way is for Antlion to open with Sandstorm and have Quina's HP end up being 1, then use Limit Glove. I told myself I would try the really fast way until I got tired of trying, and then just accept doing the kind of fast way. This only took me maybe 15 tries. It would have been nice to steal the Mythril Vest, but I'll take the speed over the steal.

There's just scenes and yet another item hunt after that, this time in the Cathedral that was previously not accessible. Stiltzkin has his second deal to purchase at this time as well.

Watch as these unsuspecting ants stumble into the pit of the ravaging Ant Lion. You cant see it from the angle, but the Ant Lion buries itself at the bottom of a cone shaped depression in the dirt. When it feels the vibrations of an ant falling it, it snaps out with its great claws and pulls Anty under the ground and sucks the life out of him. These Ant Lions are lightning quick!
To Find your OWN:
You find ant lions in dry dusty sandy areas. Have a container ready! Look for inverted conical pits in the sand/dirt, scoop under the bottom of the pit, below it by a couple inches, with your hand or a shovel. Sift through the dirt and look for a medium sized sand colored creature!

アリジゴクを二匹飼っています。左の巣穴に蟻を投入すると一度は必死に虎口を逃れたものの、再びすり鉢状のトラップにはまり万事休す。こうして観察してみると、落とし穴の中心で待ち構えるアリジゴクは巷でよく言われるように這い上がろうとする蟻を目掛けて砂粒をぶつけている訳ではないと気付きます（アリジゴクは狩りの最中に体の向きを変えない）。アリジゴクが作る巣穴は粉体工学的にも優れており、すり鉢状の斜面は堆積安息角（angle of repose）という不安定な平衡状態にあるらしい。アリジゴクは大顎で砂粒を適当に跳ね飛ばして土砂崩れを起こすきっかけを作っているだけなのです。それにしても素晴らしいですね。
I have two doodlebugs and their hunt is pretty cool. You can see its bombardment of sand grains to cause landslide at the foot of prey. BTW, the antlion and its pitfall are called "ari-jigoku" in Japanese, meaning "ant-hell" (not "anti-hell :P). The container is 8cm in diameter. Recorded with a webcam on early-June, 2007 in Japan.

| FF12 Streaker Challenge - Antlion - 273 sec
Yet again another demonstration of just how effective balance is. I start the vid at the first mantis with full health. As I take damage the balance comes into effect at a certain level. When I get to Antlion it's full health and warp the little buggers out of there before Antlion has a chance to use Cannibilise. Then it's Niho + Rem for Antlion followed by attack, balance, heal and revive till it drops. This is not a difficult hunt when prepared for properly though its a bigh help to have 2-3 thousand HP PLUS Bubble. As you can see I use Bubble a lot lot more than the belts and that is because I want the Indigo Pendants on to stop the balance from missing over half the time.

I finally get a Fomalhaut! woohooo! The video starts after Vaan gets one. This battle would have finished quicker but Antlion decided to Cannibalize 2 Killer Mantises! O_o Players who sees this happen, will probably reset. (Like how I used to before) But I just tried to beat Antlion even though it got too strong. D:! Niho helped a lot (Disease) Without it, I might be dying from combos here and there. lol
Disable was a bit*h too! Vaan almost died but threw an X-Potion at the last second. W00t! lol But I had to revive Vaan once. :(

I didn't have enough money to buy better armor so I decided to go to the Feywood. But it was hard cause of my weak guns. I decided to take the Antlion Hunt to get a Fomalhaut. This video shows my 6th Fomalhaut and finishing off Antlion. I dont know why I didn't use Decoy at the start, instead of exchanging someone's equipment everytime Antlion changes targets. lol XD

| Final Fantasy XII: Int Antlion & Gilgamesh together at last! - 1328 sec
I connect these two hunts together in this movie. It was pretty fun and of course my favorite part in the game...notibly cause of the music, but what can I say. Before I get there though I show people a few area in which im always asked.
First, you can see when I complete the antlion hunt (I forgot to check for a fomalhout but oops I can get that anytime) theres the reward. For that I get the Bubble Belt which doubles my max HP, you can see the difference as shortly after I equip it to Vaan. It becomes available for sale later in the clan shop.
Secondly I show where I get the key to the 3rd area of the mine (to get to the 2nd area where I was you need to accept the antlion hunt). You cant get the key until you accept the Gilgamesh hunt. I tried before accepting the hunt and got nothing.
Well there you have it, enjoy as I play in both 2x and normal speed just for a bit of variety!

This fight had me up against many enemies as well as the antlion. I had to worry about all of that in one as well as healing. It calmed down for a bit then at the end he really hit hard. I had the accessory on to protect me from dont act status, argh I hate that.
