Mukasey took over leadership of the Department of Justice after a time of great turmoil and controversy. Michael Mukasey was born in the Bronx, New York, in 1941 and graduated from Columbia College and Yale Law School, where he was on the Board of Editors of the Yale Law Journal. Prior to becoming Attorney General, he had a lengthy career as an attorney, including service as an Assistant United States Attorney from 1972 to 1976 in New York. From 1975 to 1976 he also served as chief of his district's Official Corruption Unit. From 1976 to 1987 he was an associate, and then member, of the firm Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler.
Mukasey was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 and served until 2006, the last six years as chief judge. During that time, Judge Mukasey presided over hundreds of cases, including the trial of Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman and 11 co-defendants charged with conspiring to blow up numerous sites in New York. Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, he was widely praised for the speed with which the federal courthouse, located just blocks from the site of the World Trade Center, returned to normal operation.
Upon his retirement from the bench, Mukasey returned to Patterson, Belknap, Webb & Tyler, in the firm's litigation group.
Judge Mukasey has received numerous awards over the years, including the Learned Hand Medal for Excellence in Federal Jurisprudence from the Federal Bar Council, the William Tendy Award from the Fiske Association, awards from the Seymour Association, the Respect for Law Alliance, and the Ari Halberstam Award from the Jewish Children's Museum. He also received an honorary degree from the Brooklyn Law School.
Mukasey's professional and civic activities have included service as a director of the William Nelson Cromwell Foundation and as a director of the Jewish Children's Museum. He has also been a lecturer in law at the Columbia Law School. He was a member of the Automation and Technology Committee of the Judicial Conference of the United States; was chairman of the Committee on Public Access to Information and Proceedings of the New York State Bar Association; was a member of the Federal Courts Committee and the Communications Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York; and was a member of the American Bar Association.
Judge Mukasey was nominated to be Attorney General by President George W. Bush on September 17, 2007, and confirmed by the United States Senate on November 8. He entered duty on November 9.

As a DS owner, I eventually stumbled upon the greatness that was Phoenix Wright and it became one of my main obsessions (and still is). With VG4 coming up, I knew I HAD to make a Phoenix Wright video. After much searching, I found an AWESOME remix of one of my favorite themes from the game and went out to make the video.
The plot is that there has been a string of murders in Central City and all fingers are pointing at 14 year old Shinji Ikari. Who else would be better to defend him other than Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney? Phoenix must defend Shinji while challenging a new and upcoming prosecutor. Phoenix must put all of his skills as a defense attorney on the line to defend his client and may even get some unexpected help on the way...
Tidbits
- This is the first video I did in Adobe Premiere Pro CS2. I needed to use it for the text, screen scrolling, and layer bending.
- I didn't wanna bother getting the remastered Evangelion dvds so I just used my old ones.
- The Cross Examination part had to be altered due to time constraints. I originally wanted the video to only be 3 minutes, but I had to extend it to 4.
- Due to massive time constraints, I wasn't able to put EVERYTHING I wanted in the video. Even if I used the entire song, I wouldn't be able to fit everything in.
The response to this video at AWA was quite amazing and got the biggest applause during the VG4 showing. Thanks to everyone who watched!

Check it, Jim Braude of 96.9 FM- Boston great job, asking a real question that effects working taxpayers. Martha Coakley the Massachusetts AG, shows she has no clue about how CORI (messed up, mismanaged, MA criminal datebase with lots of pot busts for a joint like me!) harms workers. I got arrested for one joint. What I found out is that it didn't matter for me what I did in court, the arrest was likely going to show up on my CORI forever no matter the disposition.
Innocent, continued without a finding, guilty, the arrest would show no matter what. It really didn't matter the outcome in regards to future work, the mark was there and will be forever, unless I wait ten years and find a judge to pardon me or some BS....Can you believe that? I need to kiss the ass of crooks that have criminally hurt me to get my record clean for nothing???
But then having it sealed could be even worse because the employer could see that I had been arrested but they wouldn't know the reason which was for 1 joint worths of medical cannabis.
Which means they would probably think I was a violent criminal or pedophile.
The only people that are really advised to try to seal criminal complaints are to cover real bad complaints, convictions, crimes?
You don't do that for one joint, sealing is worse than being, "Arrested for marihuana possession, continued without a finding, not guilty"?
The system is MA is stacked so that a first arrest for marijuana is shuffled out without a trial in most cases. Because for most working class people caught with a joint, the damage of having the arrest being reported on the CORI is done, without a trial or any recourse. To me, that is criminal!
AG Martha Coakley, you "uh haha'd" like you don't know and then passed on bad misleading answers and Jim Braude and the audience heard it. He called you on it.
The way the Government and Corporations use the CORI is criminal! Governor Patrick isn't doing anything for marijuana reform but he is right on CORI reform. He just needs to be more vocal and focus on it. Why isn't he touring MA about it!? Roxbury, Dorchester, Springfield, Lowell, New Bedford, Lawrence, Pittsfield, Holyoke, Worcester, people need jobs not to be penalized for life because of one joint 15 years ago.
