PKR Youth claimed today that up to 16 Barisan Nasional parliamentarians are ready to hop over to the opposition coalition.
"We have up to 15 to 16 MPs from BN, including Umno MPs, who want to join PKR," party's Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohamad Akin said at a press conference today.
Shamsul denied that PKR was offering money to buy over the parliamentarians.
Far from encouraging them to defect, he said that the MPs had voluntarily held talks with PKR to discuss crossing over.
"They have come and met (PKR de facto leader) Anwar Ibrahim because they have lost faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. They are not crossing over for monetary gains," he said.

SEVEN LILLIES introduces Adnan Rustempasic, a gentle man who was forced to pick up a gun when the Serbs began raining artillery shells down on Sarajevo. Adnan spent much of the siege helping defend a bitterly-disputed piece of territory, the Vrbanja (ver-ban-ya) bridge in the center of Sarajevo. The bridge, spanning the Miljacka (mil-yat-ska) river that runs through the city, separated the Serbs and the Bosnians and was a strategically important part of the city. The two sides faced each other and traded sniper and mortar fire from gutted buildings on both banks of the river. The area in front was a no-man's-land and designated free-fire zone. Anything that moved was shot. Scores of fighters on both sides died here, and the Serbs realized that their attempts to capture the bridge had ended in a bloody stalemate. It became a war of attrition, where both Serb and Bosnian soldiers fought to stay alive.
SEVEN LILLIES also takes us to the infamous Lion cemetery, where Serb snipers and artillery gunners targeted citizens gathered to bury their dead. A woman cleans the grave of the famous Bosnian film director Hajrudin Šiba Krvavac.
One summer day in 1993, about 1½ years after the beginning of the siege, Adnan Rustempasic was home from the frontline at his apartment. A neighbor's child knocked on his door and asked if Adnan's young son, Sanjin (san-yin), could come out to play in the courtyard of the apartment building. He said yes, as the day had been relatively quiet as far as the Serb shelling of the city was concerned. Four-year-old Sanjin and a group of playmates were having a good time, making good use of their opportunity to play outside as parents tried as much as possible to keep their children indoors for safety from snipers and shells.
This was the day when Adnan's life changed forever.

Battle of Pasir Panjang
Adnan led a 42-strong platoon from the Malay Regiment in the defense of Singapore against the Japanese invaders. The soldiers fought at the Battle of Pasir Panjang, at Pasir Panjang Ridge in the Bukit Chandu (Opium Hill) area on February 12-14, 1942. Although heavily outnumbered, Adnan refused to surrender and urged his men to fight until the end. They held off the Japanese for two days amid heavy enemy shelling and shortages of food and ammunition. Adnan was shot but carried on fighting. The battle went down in history for consisting the only recorded hand-to-hand combat between the allied forces and the japanese army during the battle for singapore. According to survivors who managed to escape the carnage after the battle was lost, the wounded Adnan was taken prisoner by Japanese soldiers, who tied him to a cherry tree and bayoneted him to death. The japanese forbids anyone from bringing down his body. His remains was never found even after the war.
Because of his actions at Bukit Chandu, Adnan is currently considered by Malaysians and Singaporeans today as a hero. He is also credited as the soldier who caught the disguised Indian troops' marching error.
When Singapore surrendered, the Japanese Kempeitai attempted but failed to find and murder Saidi's family in revenge of Bukit Chandu.
Kent Ridge Park, close to the site of the battle now bears a plaque in commemoration of Lt Adnan Bin Saidi. A museum at Bukit Chandu stands in memory of the bravery of Malay Regiment soldiers. This regiment would later become the Royal Malay Regiment of the Royal Malaysian Army.
The Malay Regiment showed what esprit de corps and discipline can achieve. Garrisons of posts held their ground and many of them were wiped out almost to a man.

And this is the situation the Pahang Mentri Besar has got himself into, according to Utusan Malaysia.
In the Bisik-Bisik column, Awang Selamat took Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob to task for flinging the words "go to hell" at journalists in the state assembly on Monday.
The columnist said some people thought they were so powerful they could say whatever they like without considering the consequences.
"Perhaps that it is the reason the Pahang Mentri Besar told reporters to 'go to hell.' He can naik angin (get mad). I too can get mad at times.
"But the Malays are very cultured people. No matter how angry a person is, he should always watch his mouth and actions. Losing one's cool is not an excuse for not watching what you say, more so if you are a leader," said Awang.
The columnist said it would have been more effective if the leader concerned had reprimanded the newspaper for its mistake in a well-mannered way.
Adnan was angry that an Utusan report had wrongly quoted him as giving the Prime Minister an ultimatum to pay the state RM150mil to RM200mil to stop all logging activities.
Explaining his outburst, Adnan said he was really upset by the report and questioned its motive.
Utusan front-paged a Bernama report where Adnan said this was the first time he had used such words in his eight years as Mentri Besar.
He said the report could have caused a misunderstanding between him and the Prime Minister.
"I am only human. When it was made to appear as if I was not loyal to the Prime Minister, I was furious because the Prime Minister deserves to be supported," he said.
Utusan also devoted a whole page to comments from MPs, the public and others on the matter.
Shariman Mohd Zain, who works in the private sector, expressed regret over Adnan's comment, saying it was shocking and unprofessional, while Nurazliza Abdul Manan said he should have corrected the mistake through a closed-door meeting or a press release.
The Terengganu Press Club called on Adnan to withdraw his offensive remarks and to apologise to the media while Pontian MP Hasni Mohammad said it might be a misunderstanding.
It was also pointed out that Adnan had "misbehaved" in the past when he showed a vulgar sign to the opposition party during a by-election in the state.
In another column in the daily, the writer said words were a reflection of one's personality and leaders should be cautious of every word they used.
"There is no point saying that a leader who has uttered bad words is actually a good-hearted person because every word coming from one's mouth first comes from the heart," he wrote.
