| Weekend trip to Tybee Island, GA - 199 sec
I took a weekend wedding trip to wonderful Tybee Island in Georgia (near Savannah). The trip was a blast. Lots of crazy stories -- one of which includes a friend who slept on the beach overnight in boxers and a t-shit, because he locked himself out of his room. Hil-arious, I know.
I ate nothing but seafood during my visit (which all tasted awesome) and the weather was perfect almost the entire trip. The reason why I say "almost perfect" is the wedding & reception was intended to take place on-the-beach. However, the weather turned bad literally right before the ceremony and the wedding planners didn't really have a "plan B" ...so the wedding was in a parking garage. We all felt really bad for the bride and groom, but they seemed to have good attitudes about it.
All-in-all, myself and the entire wedding attendees had one heck of a memorable weekend. I wish I had video blogged more of my trip, you can watch the few snippets I took in the video.

The luxurious master bathroom contains hand painted spun glass sink bowls, makeup counter, custom storage cabinets, shower with seven shower heads, and bench and steam all behind a hand crafted antique glass door. And as if that weren't enough, this unbelievable bathroom also contains a luxury sauna tub with air and water jets, aroma therapy, colored lights, with a custom leaded glass window for TV viewing. The floor is heated, the ceiling faux painted. You have to see it to believe it!
All bedrooms in this spectacular home have at least two water exposures, windows to catch cool breezes and unique ceiling fans.
The attention to detail in this home is unmatched. All the cabinets in the home are custom designed, counter tops are granite and many walls are tiled. The interior trim and doors are one of a kind made specifically for the beach style of house.
This home has four zones for the HVAC to allow efficient operation. All electrical and plumbing fixtures are luxury architectural grade. The floors in the bedrooms, halls and closets are carpeted, the bathroom floors are tiled, all other floors are bamboo wood.
RF controls allow for exterior lighting to operated from several locations, including from an automobile!! The family room TV comes with a lift that brings it out of the floor to allow for maximum view when not in use. All windows have remote electrical controlled shades. An elevator stops on three floors to help with groceries and luggage as well as moving awkward items between floors.
Access to the home is over an 18' wide flat bridge approximately 200" long. The bridge is maintained by the Homeowners Association and there is a walking easement to the beach for all 19 residents of the subdivision.
The ground level includes covered parking for five vehicles, an 8' x 21' workroom, two storage areas and the main entry of the house.
The original house was completed in July of 2001 and the addition in 2006. Both were designed by the prestigious architectural firm of Hall and Hull of Hilton Head.
