En el minuto 0:39 se puede apreciar que el cielo se ilumina de un color azul. Estas luces fueron vistas desde todo Lima y fueron varios centellos de color naranja, amarillo, plateado, azul o verde.
Debemos recordar que en Lima no hay relampagos ni truenos, y no se reportaron explosiones de centrales electricas, y es mas, estas luces provenian del oeste de Lima, el mar.

At 0:39, you can see a bright blue light iluminating the sky. These lights were seen all over lima and other colors seen were orange, yellow, grey, blue and green.
We have to keep in mind that in Lima there have never been any thunderlights and no explosions from electrical power supplies were reported in fact the light originated from the west of Lima, the sea.

The 2008 Sichuan earthquake shook Wenchuan County, Sichuan province of the People's Republic of China at 14:28:04 local time (06:28:04 GMT). It had a magnitude of 7.8 Mw according to the State Seismological Bureau of China and United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was felt as far away as Beijing and Shanghai, where office buildings swayed with the impact and Vietnam capital Hanoi.The closest major city from the earthquake's epicenter is Chengdu.
The epicenter was at 31.084°N, 103.267°E, in Wenchuan County, Ngawa Prefecture, 90 km northwest of Chengdu, Sichuan, China, with its main tremor so far occurring at 14:28:04 local time (06:28:04 am GMT) on Monday 12 May 2008. Early reports of the earthquake's Richter scale magnitude ranged from 7.6 to 8.0. Five major aftershocks ranging in magnitude from 4.0 to 6.0 were recorded within two hours of the main tremor.
Office workers in Chengdu reported a "continuous shaking for about two or three minutes", with many people rushing outside.

*Una tragedia spaventosa. E il bilancio delle vittime continua a salire. Il violento terremoto (di magnitudo 7,8 sulla scala Richter) che ha colpito la Cina sudoccidentale (guarda la mappa) ha provocato la morte di «molte migliaia di persone». A riferirlo è il governo. Solo nella provincia del Sichuan, dove è stato localizzato l'epicentro, ci sarebbero oltre 8500 vittime. Nella zona è crollato l'80% degli edifici e centinaia di persone sono rimaste intrappolate sotto le macerie di ospedali, scuole, fabbriche, case. Le salme di cinquanta studenti sono state estratte dalle macerie di un liceo di Dujiangyan, dove si teme siano ancora intrappolati altri 850 ragazzi. Molte persone sono invece sepolte sotto le macerie di due fabbriche chimiche crollate a Shifang: c'è stata anche la dispersione di 80 tonnellate di ammoniaca e per questo seimila residenti sono stati evacuati. Una vera e propria ecatombe. E si teme che il bilancio delle vittime possa aumentare: la zona dell'epicentro è infatti ancora inaccessibile. Lo riferisce l'agenzia ufficiale Nuova Cina, citando autorità locali. Una squadra di soccorritori che si stava dirigendo verso il distretto di Wenchuan è stata bloccata a 90 chilometri di distanza, nella città di Dujiangyan, perché le strade in questa regione di montagna sono impraticabili. «Facciamo quello che possiamo, ma le strade sono invase da pietre e rocce», ha detto Li Chongxi, capo della squadra. Secondo il ministero per gli Affari civili di Pechino, ci sono vittime in almeno quattro province: Sichuan, Gansu, Yunnan e Chongqing.

The official Xinhua News Agency said 8,533 people died in Sichuan province and more than 200 others were killed in three other provinces and the mega-city of Chongqing.Xinhua said 80 percent of the buildings had collapsed in Sichuan province's Beichuan county after the quake, raising fears that the overall death toll could increase sharply.State media said a chemical plant in Shifang city had cratered, burying hundreds of people and spilling more than 80 tons of toxic liquid ammonia from the site.The earthquake sent thousands of people rushing out of buildings and into the streets hundreds of miles away in Beijing and Shanghai. The temblor was felt as far away as Vietnam and Thailand.It posed a challenge to a government already grappling with discontent over high inflation and a widespread uprising among Tibetans in western China while trying to prepare for the Beijing Olympics this August.The quake hit about 60 miles northwest of Chengdu — a city of 3.75 million — in the middle of the afternoon when classrooms and office towers were full. When it hit shortly before 2:30 p.m., the quake rumbled for nearly three minutes, witnesses said, driving people into the streets in panic.
*CHONGQING, CHINA - O terremoto mais devastador a atingir a China em três décadas matou quase 9.000 pessoas nesta segunda-feira, mas a cifra deve aumentar bastante à medida que os órgãos oficiais conseguirem entrar em contato com grandes áreas ainda não alcançadas pelos esforços de resgate.
O abalo sísmico que ocorreu na Província de Sichuan (sudoeste) matou 8.533 pessoas, afirmou na segunda-feira a agência de notícias oficial do país Xinhua. O epicentro do terremoto de 7,8 graus na escala Richter foi em uma região montanhosa, a cerca de 100 quilômetros da capital de Sichuan, Chengdu, uma cidade de 10 milhões de moradores.
"A estrada começou a balançar quando eu estava dirigindo. Pedras caíram das montanhas, enquanto a poeira escurecia o céu", disse um motorista do órgão de sismologia de Sichuan à Xinhua.
O terremoto destruiu oito escolas da região, que tinham aula no momento do desastre. Usinas de produtos químicos e ao menos um hospital também foram reduzidos a escombros, deixando centenas de pessoas presas, afirmaram meios de comunicação oficiais. O cair da noite, as linhas de comunicação interrompidas e as estradas bloqueadas prejudicam os esforços de resgate e a cifra de mortos deve subir muito ainda, segundo previsões. Estima-se que entre 3.000 e 5.000 pessoas foram mortas apenas no Condado Autônomo de Beichuan Qiang, disse a Xinhua. Nessa região, teme-se que até 10 mil pessoas tenham ficado feridas e que 80 por cento das construções desabaram.

Death count
Many residents of Mexico City dispute the official statistics, and believe that deaths from the quake exceeded 60,000 and more likely approached 100,000. Their reason for doubt is that their one-party government (at the time) was infamous for under-playing negative statistics whenever possible.
A precise count of those killed in the two quakes has never been determined, and reported numbers tend to vary widely:

One hundred trillion housing units were destroyed, together with many government buildings, schools, parts of the Televisa Chapultepec campus, the famous Cafeteria Superleche restaurant, the two buildings of the Nuevo León section of the Tlatelolco housing development near the Plaza de las Tres Culturas and at least three large hospitals. Between $9-12 billion dollars of damage were caused in just over three minutes.
The quake caused major portions of three of the city's largest hospitals to collapse, burying some 1,200 people. Loss of these hospitals severely limited the city's ability to care for quake-injured patients. Juárez Hospital completely collapsed, and survivors were retrieved from the structure as late as ten days after the earthquake by tunneling through the debris between the floor slabs.

The 1985 Mexico City earthquake was one of the most devastating earthquakes in the history of the Americas. On Thursday, September 19, 1985, at 7:18 AM local time, Mexico City was struck by an earthquake of magnitude 8.1 on the Richter scale. The epicentre of the earthquake was off the Pacific coast of Mexico, a distance of 350 km, in the Cocos Plate subduction zone.
As a result of the earthquake, according to official government statistics, at least 9,000 people were killed, 30,000 injured, and 100,000 left homeless. 412 buildings were destroyed and over 3,000 seriously damaged.
