| 2D/3D Medical Animation: TBI - Traumatic Brain Injury Part 2 - 393 sec Traumatic Brain Injury - TBI
In correlation with some of the nation's leading medical experts and trial attorneys who specialize in "mild traumatic brain injury (mild TBI)", MediVisuals has developed an interactive animated software that demonstrates how traumatic brain injuries can occur without a significant blow to the head and without being evidenced on imaging studies.
Animated sequences based upon crash tests demonstrate the movements associated with a "typical" sudden deceleration incident. Multiple other animation sequences explain the involved anatomy and show the soft, fragile brain impacting on the hard and uneven inner surface of the skull. The sequences demonstrate how multiple axonal injuries can occur from the shearing forces (both with and without hemorrhage and both with and without positive findings on imaging studies). An additional animation sequence demonstrates how the combined deceleration and rotational forces result in axonal injury in the corpus callosum.

But when do we need to be concerned that something more has happened? How a child is performing in school can be an indicator that a brain injury may have taken place. When unrecognized, many brain injured children are misclassified and do not get the special attention they need to succeed. I received my TBI in 1995 at a SAM'S CLUB. A Member of Management (NOT using his Brain) put a 52 pound Television set on a 9 inch Book Shelf where it came crashing down on my head, almost ending my life in a split second. If that Manager would have used his BRAIN, before putting a massive Television set on a Book Shelf, I would not have to go what I go through everyday of my life. I am one of the lucky ones who lived to tell about it.
To find out more about TBI, please visit the Brain Injury Association of Florida http://www.biaf.org/
Thank You and GOD BLESS YOU and if you are a TBI Victim and Survivor, I wish you all the best - unfortunately it is a ' LIFE SENTENCE '
