Selena and Bert visited New Orleans in 2004. During their Honeymoon they played with the Storyville Stompers at Halloween. Playing Bourbon Street Parade actually in Bourbon Street during a Parade was one great thrill for lovers of classic jazz.
Here it is repeated in the Netherlands with Ray Vanderhooft singing.

This tune was first recorded by Bob Crosby. Bob Crosby led one of the hottest big bands of the 1930s, a unit that although filled with swing stylists could play Dixieland with the joy and spontaneity of a small group.
One of the hottest groups these days is Britain's Chris Barber Band. Chris started his band in the early fifties and even today, some fifty years later the band is still on top of the scene. I just checked his gig list for September and October 2007. Some 35 concerts over a period of 2 months. Who can claim that in the jazz world. Just unbelievable.

The 16th Street Parade is to be held on saturday, 11 of august 2007, kicking off at 1.00 pm and ending at 10.00 pm. About 100 mega- and smaller-scale parties will be held in and around Zürich over the Parade weekend, from friday evening right through to the early hours of monday morning.
*Warm-up's:
The Street Parade warm-up parties will kick off at 1:00pm and the following locations: Start-Area (Utoquai), Opernhaus/Bellevue, Limmatquai, Burkliplatz, Kongresshaus, Rentenanstalt (check out «Line-up/Stages»).
*Route:
The 2.4 km--long Street Parade route will be the same as in the previous year. The Street Parade will begin at 3.15 pm at Utoquai in the Zürich neighbourhood of Seefeld, from where it will head around the lakefront via Bellevue, Quaibrücke and Bürkliplatz, arriving at Hafendamm Enge at around 10 pm. The fun will continue at the after-parties at Opernhaus, Bellevue, Bürkliplatz, Rentenanstalt and Limmatquai until midnight.
The entire Street Parade route can be easily reached on foot from the city centre or the central station.

A música novamente saiu à rua, no 4º ano consecutivo deste Festival Internacional de Dixie, que findou como sempre com a StreetParade nas ruas da cidade de Cantanhede.
No entanto, a organização do desfile ainda não aprendeu que como na música o compasso é bastante necessário num evento destes, fazendo com que a mostra perca o ritmo. Nós tentámos colar o ritmo à festa e editámos um DVD pessoal que aqui divulgamos em 5 partes, para que muitos dos intervenientes se possam rever, com as limitações que este canal nos impõe.
A 5ª edição do DixieLand Cantanhede está à porta e fazemos votos que continue a superar as edições anteriores, como tem sido hábito.
