| MAYDAY 1985 "Destination Unknown" - 298 sec
After releasing two albums on A&M Records "MAYDAY" in 1981, and "MAYDAY Revenge" in 1982, the band broke up. Then in 1984 MAYDAY reformed with Andrej J-Guitar, Charlie Torres/Mass-Bass, Micheal "Beanie" Jordan-Keys, Danny Shmitt-Drums. Steve Johnstad " Zeus "-Vocals.
By 1985, with the help of our managers Hernando & Doreen Courtwright, MAYDAY signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell but failed to get a recording contract with a major lable. This is the first of many cool songs writen & recorded by this third and final line up of the band.

| MAYDAY "Danny Shmitt's NYC Apartment" - 569 sec
During the winter months of 1985 our drummer Danny Shmitt took refuge around the corner from my place on 30th street and 2nd Ave. NYC !!
In this abandoned four story apartment building, you can see it was far from the comforts of his home, and in fact, I'm not sure many could have endured this for a night much less several weeks!!
Dispite these many hardships, Danny chose to do this so that he could continue sending money back home for his family while MAYDAY pursued yet another record deal.
Although the temperature often went below zero, Danny never complained but instead, remained determined to stick it out until the pressure to be with his wife and children became unbearable!!
Then in 1990, after attending a WHITESNAKE concert in Milwaukee, Danny past away in his sleep!!
Our musical history together started in the early 70's while playing in the Wisconsin band SNOBLIND, and later in the early 80's with MAYDAY during the recording sessions of our second A&M LP REVENGE, and then again in the mid 80's with our re-formation of MAYDAY #3!!
Danny remained one of my dearest and most loyal friends to the very end!! His many sacrifices during these difficult times had given new meaning to the phrase
"STARVING FOR ONES ART"!!
Unfortunately, when Danny suddenly past away, he also left three very young & beautiful children without a father!!
Now with these newly released videos, I have been able to re-connect with them while also bringing back ( if only for a moment ) the father they have loved & missed for many years!!
Danny continues to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him!!
Not only was he one of the greatest drummers I've ever had the pleasure of working with, but he was also, my HERO!!
R.I.P. DANNY SHMITT!! You will never be forgotten!!
