I think a lot of people thought I was really stupid when I said I used my Sennheiser HD555s for my iPod. Actually, these are what I use more. They have nothing on my 555s, but I really like the sound of them.
Edit 27/04/08: I'm not a flaming moron, and these earphones aren't fake just because I bought them for cheap off eBay. So what I'm saying about the sound is completely legitimate.

This is just an uneducated opinion (as in, 'I don't know a lot about audio techonology', and not 'I'm an idiot'), but I am somewhat picky with what music should sound like. It's just a couple of things I noticed about the sound of the two headphones.
Edit 24/04/08: Yes, as a lot of people have pointed out, the bass gets a shitton better with time. So it was probably grossly unfair of me to put this up right after I bought them. Basically, after some time, the bass output of the two is pretty similar, except I don't use my 212s too much anymore because of how cloudy they make everything sound. I have to point this out because more people are seeing this video than I thought, and I'm worried that Sennheiser will send people to kill me for dropping their 555 sales down by 3 units per annum.

Last night I accidentally destroyed my headphones by sending a nasty huge transient (several, in fact) through the left driver. It displaced the voice coil and bent it out of shape. The diaphram is very delicately constructed, and there was no possibility for repair, so I opened it up for all to see. I only hope that if you're watching this, you didn't do the same.

The first is an ultra tiny shotgun mic from Sennheiser, it's the MKE400. To give you an idea of the size, it's physical length and width is that of your pinky finger. Yes, that's one amazingly short shotgun microphone. It's surprisingly directional for such a small mic. The design team at Sennheiser was able to innovate while answering the market's request for an even smaller on-camera mic. They maintained the same high quality sound since they built the very first shotgun mic, yes, Sennheiser invented the interference tube design that all of today's shotgun mics are based on.
This mic is a great upgrade to a stock mic because it improves sound, yet is so unobtrusive. Attached to a mid sized camera, I can easily maneuver through a crowd without attracting too much attention. That's great when you need to be stealth. Yet you're still getting that high quality sound that Sennheiser is famous for- and that sound is from the direction that you're shooting - great for events, Steadicam, ENG, behind the scenes and documentary style work.
The accessory pack is a must! It adds both the wind stopping long haired wind muff and an XLR adapter. This is a must have upgrade to any small camera's stock mic.
