This is video 2 of the Reading Line tour. 1703 and 1705 are of 6 active SD45-2's (former EL) on the NS roster. They work on Conrail Shared Assets in New Jersey.

as per a request from a few railfan friends the next time i found one, i recorded the voice of a dying unique locomotive, the emd sd45-2. the santa fe owned the most at 162, of which 60 are still active, most in texas. this unqiue 20 cylinder locomotive is 35 years old and is amazing it hasnt been re-engined... taken in ft. worth, tx on bnsf's ft worth sub on 5/14/07

| 9/28/04 with WC SD45 7518 @ MP 77.35 IC Iowa Div. Grain xtra - 49 sec
For you WC fans, we have the SD45 WC 7518 and a CN Wide-cab SD40-2 trailing. This was an extra Eastbound grain train for Argo, Il. and eventually some of it made into Karo corn syrup, which your camera man mixes with peanut butter....try it!! Most of the grain on this line goes down the BNSF at East Dubuque, but we get lucky now and then and more than two trains a day polish the rails!! At the time of shooting, the WC SD45's were almost more frequent here than on home rails!
