Venerated for its virtuosity, the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks has mesmerized all with its crisp perfection of the human voice.
Named by Leonard Bernstein as his favourite chorus, this much recorded ensemble has performed under the baton of illustrious conductors and orchestras. The Chorus brings its special tonal homogeneity and stylistic versatility to Singapore in a repertoire covering sacred music and music from renaissance, baroque to the romanticism and the contemporary.
Fresh from its 60th anniversary celebrations under the baton of much-praised Dutch conductor Peter Dijkstra, the chorus will imbue life into a musical canvas spanning the best of German and other European choral works in a special double-evening debut that promises sheer fluency and finesse.
An irresistible palette of German lieders, baroque motets, romantic choral works a cappella and with piano, English ballads and contemporary masterworks for male and female chorus, mixed chorus and sound-full double chorus makes this a bountiful concert for all choral fans!

The story of Beethoven and his music written by Israela Margalit, the eminent pianistin and author, and presented by Sir Peter Ustinov.
The oiginal video "Beethoven and his music (7 of 15)" is removed by YouTube after complaint from Saarländischer Rundfunk.
The original video contained an 8 mins.clip from a clip in an 1 hour-program on DISCOVERY public TV channel SOME 20 YEARS AGO - sent to all human beings in Europe.
These 8 mins. contained music played brilliantly by Saarländischer Rundfunks Symphony Orchestra (alas!).
I could'nt dream of, that these 8 mins. would violate Saarländischer Rundfunks copyright having in mind, that they many years earlier had shared it with a good part of the World, and there since then may lay THOUSANDS of videocopies around with THE SAME EIGHT MINUTES.
Lesson learnt:
Beware of Saarländischer Rundfunk, whos management obviously is extremely small minded and has bad publicity in preference to good publicity (which I think my video was).
Instead they have made me a CRIMINAL for the rest of my life. Es tröstet mich einigerweise doch, dass es sich wahrscheinlich nicht um viele Jahre handelt, weil ich vor drei Jahre mein zweites Schlaganfall hatte.
The only thing, that torments me, is the threat from YouTube, that they will delete all my channel, should I once again unaware violate anyones intellectual property!
For the moment my favorite piece of music is Händels wonderfull "Calm thou my soul" and will continue to be for some time to come.
