Here's a track listing from the album The Moth Confesses by the Neon Philharmonic.
1. "Brilliant Colors" (Tupper Saussy) -- 4:18
2. "Cowboy" (Saussy) -- 2:18
3. "The New Life Out There" (Saussy) -- 5:32
4. "Morning Girl" (Saussy) -- 2:12
5. "Midsummer Night" (Saussy) -- 5:44
6. "Little Sparrow" (Saussy) -- 3:16
7. "The Last Time I Saw Jacqueline" (Saussy) -3:42
8. "Morning Girl, Later" (Saussy) -- 2:31
Okay, now bear with me. The song you're now listening to is #8 from The Moth Confesses. The song is called Morning Girl, Later.
The song you are currently listening to is NOT #4 from The Moth Confesses. #4 is called Morning Girl. Similar title, similar tune, completely different lyrics. The song you are currently listening to, "Morning Girl, Later," is not a "different version" or a "live verison" of #4. It's a different song, recorded as a sequel to #4, released at the same time. Of course you never heard this song on the radio, because #4 was the only song on the album that charted.
To confuse things, the Lettermen released a cover of #4 a couple of years later. To confuse things further, Shaun Cassidy released a cover of Morning Girl, Later (#8 on the album The Moth Confesses) which you are now listening to, but he titled it "Morning Girl." So his cover is of this song, #8, NOT of #4 even though it has the same title as #4.
To summarize, there are 2 different songs, #4 Morning Girl, and #8 Morning Girl, Later. They're not different versions, they're different songs, released at the same time on the same album. One is not a version of the other. To get the whole story you must listen to both songs in sequence. #4, Morning girl, can be heard here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpjjlEeEaVU Auteur : cllewis1 Tags: tupper saussy morning girl later neon philharmonic | | The Butterfly Lovers [Erhu Concerto] - Philharmonic of China - 502 sec Xu Ke, erhu instrument soloist

The concert will take place on February 26 at the East Pyongyang Grand Theater, and will be the centerpiece of a 48-hour visit on February 25-27, said Mehta, who is also executive director of the New York Philharmonic, the oldest active symphony orchestra in the United States.
The national anthems of both countries will be played by the Philharmonic, said Mehta, adding that the visit comes "at an exciting time" when both countries "are at the cusp of normalizing relations."
The national anthems of both countries will be followed by Wagner's Prelude to Act III of "Lohengrin," Dvorak's "New World Symphony" - written while the 19th century Czech composer lived in the United States - and Gershwin's "An American in Paris."
"This journey is a manifestation of the power of music to unite people," Mehta added.
The DPRK's UN ambassador, Pak Gil Yon, told the joint news conference with Mehta that he did not know if DPRK leader Kim Jong-il would attend the performance.
He also said he would not comment on the political ramifications of the trip, except to say it would strengthen relations.
"The scheduled visit will surely strengthen the understanding and cultural relations between the people of the two countries," Pak said.
"Since the New York Philharmonic's first international tour in 1920, the Orchestra has shared its artistry in 420 cities in 58 countries on five continents," said Paul B. Guenther, chairman of the New York Philharmonic.
"However, the February concerts on the Korean Peninsula are unique - they grow out of the Philharmonic's tradition of speaking on a world stage, on significant occasions, in the international language of music," he said.
The orchestra will be led by conductor Lorin Maazel, who has led more than 150 orchestras in more than 5,000 opera and concert performances. UM MITTERNACHT. 1952. Vienna Philharmonic - 387 sec This is the third of Mahler's three Ruckert songs, recorded in Vienna with Bruno Walter.
By mid 1952 she was realising there would be no recovery from her illness, and these series of recordings are sung with great feeling and from the heart. The last few minutes, as it rises to a crescendo-"At Midnight I felt a single pang of pain, at Midnight". Almost unbearably moving, knowing the circumstances, and pain, in which the recordings were made.
When Kathleen and Bruno Walter parted, following a full range of recordings in 1952they knew instinctively they would never meet again.
Walter introduced her to the Mahler and Brahm's repertoire, and could not praise her enough. Walter had been a pupil, and friend of Mahler.
It was the collaboration between Kathleen and Walter which re-ignited the interest in Mahler in the post Second World War period, and which continues to the present time.
Um Mitternacht
Hab' ich gewacht
Und aufgeblickt zum Himmel;
Kein Stern vom Sterngewimmel
Hat mir gelacht
Um Mitternacht.
Um Mitternacht
Hab' ich gedacht
Hinaus in dunkle Schranken.
Es hat kein Lichtgedanken
Mir Trost gebracht
Um Mitternacht.
Um Mitternacht
Nahm ich in acht
Die Schläge meines Herzens;
Ein einz'ger Puls des Schmerzes
War angefacht
Um Mitternacht.
Um Mitternacht
Kämpft' ich die Schlacht,
O Menschheit, deiner Leiden;
Nicht konnt' ich sie entscheiden
Mit meiner Macht
Um Mitternacht.
Um Mitternacht
Hab' ich die Macht
In deine Hand gegeben!
Herr! über Tod und Leben
Du hältst die Wacht
Um Mitternacht!
At midnight
Language: English
At midnight
I awoke
and gazed up to heaven;
No star in the entire mass
did smile down at me
at midnight.
At midnight
I projected my thoughts
out past the dark barriers.
No thought of light
brought me comfort
at midnight.
At midnight
I paid close attention
to the beating of my heart;
One single pulse of agony
flared up
at midnight.
At midnight
I fought the battle,
o Mankind, of your suffering;
I could not decide it
with my strength
at midnight.
At midnight
I surrendered my strength
into your hands!
Lord! over death and life
You keep watch
at midnight! Auteur : lochness11 Tags: kathleen ferrier um mitternacht mahler bruno walter ruckert songs vienna philharmonic orchestra contralto |
