------------------------- Oh, I didn't believe to see you so quickly extinct, o flowers; you have passed away like love that one day only lasted. Perhaps new life my tears will bring to you but to revive love my tears, o no, cannot. O, inconceivable human thought a wave of contentment I am full: In my feelings I can hardly believe you assure me, o my treasure(darling). O, embrace me, and always together, always united in a single hope, of the world, we live in we will make a heaven of love.

Biancaneve e i 7 Nani - doppiaggio italiano 1938 - 371 sec

Valeria Barsova- Snegurochka's aria (Rimsky-Korsakoff) - 219 sec
Among pre-World War II lyric coloraturas, the Russian soprano Valeria Barsova (1892-1967) surely deserves to occupy a prominent position. Her delightfully light, agile, and silvery voice, as well as her technical prowess, made her a mainstay of the Bolshoi Theater- which engaged her in 1920- for 27 years. Barsova's first great success had come the previous year, when she took the place of an indisposed Antonina Nezhdanova, appearing as Rosina opposite the Basilio of Chaliapin. Barsova's voice remained remarkably well-preserved throughout her entire performing career. This recording, "S podruzhkami po yagodu khodit'" from the prologue of Rimsky-Korsakoff's Snegurochka (The Snow Maiden), was made the year the soprano retired (she was 55), yet she sounds amazingly like a teenager! Actually, she reminds me A LOT of the Italian soprano Lina Pagliughi, and while some listeners are not impressed by the child-like timbre of either soprano, I find them well-nigh irresistible. Barsova is accompanied here by the Bolshoi Theater Orchestra led by Vassiliy Nebolsin.
