So... I showed the kids this video last time I was there and they loved it! Just so people realize I wasn't posting this stuff w/out their consent!

Orphan were formerly known as "The Pumps" and made an album in 1980 on the Polygram label, to a high acclaim. They went on to become Orphan, and recorded two highly regarded albums. In 1983 "Lonely at Night" made its debut for Orphan, an album that boasted a lush production from the Quinn/Bongiovi camp. They prided themselves on playing rich pomp rock, with beefy riffs, plenty of keys and loads of harmony vocals. It did not fail to please either, title track "Lonely at night" started proceedings on the right note, followed by the catchy "What kind of love is this". These are two great songs and are typical Orphan anthems; others include "Any Time at all", "Hello" and "All over the world". This was a great album, and is often talked about in melodic rock circles. Whilst the album was being recorded in the Bongiovi studios, the young lad who used to clean round the studio for his uncle Tony went on to be a huge success, as Jon Bon Jovi!!

Anyway, it feels good to volunteer, and it's a great foil against becoming too serious about things!

OrphanCode were formed last year from the ashes of a previous quartet that had featured Rob, Neil and Jay, along with another of their friends, Gavin. After a couple of EP's and some major touring all over the US (a two year stint on both coasts) Gavin decided to stay on US soil whilst the other three came back to Ireland to re-evaluate what they wanted from their musical and creative goals. Being friends since their school days and finding that they had a wealth of creativity and songs trying to get out, they decided to write as a threesome and judge for themselves whether they were good enough to carry on. The results proved beyond doubt that they were, not only to them, but also to a very eager and supportive music-production company who paid for them to demo and ultimately record their first full-length album with Ger McDonnell taking on the role of Producer and Engineer. This record is at present being wrapped up and will hopefully see the light of day sometime next year. Until then, OrphanCode will be embarking on the live circuit and if reports of their first three shows are anything to go by, they are not to be missed!!!
