A boisterous town hall meeting in the Gibbs High School gym here was repeatedly interrupted by activists from the International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement, a pan-African socialist group, who accused Obama of ignoring the plight of poor blacks targeted by predatory lenders, police brutality and racist attacks. 09-19-2008 : CBS (CORAL GABLES, FL) - Barack Obama's rally at the University of Miami was briefly interrupted today after a dozen or so protestors began to wave homemade signs.
The group of mostly African American men held signs that read, Blacks against Obama, Jesse Jackson hates Obama, Obama for abortions, Obama for gay marriage and Obama endorsed by the KKK.
They are said to be part of a Miami based group called Michael Warns.
The crowd of over 5,000 people at the event shouted the hecklers down by chanting Yes we can!
Obama briefly paused and tried to calm the crowd down by telling the crowd to hold on. Hey young people out there its no problem for you to put your signs up, but let everybody let me finish what I have to say, alright?, he told the protesters as he stood on stage.
The group was escorted out shortly afterwards by security. Alright guys, see ya, Obama said as they left, Alright, lets get back to work.
A similar group of hecklers appeared at an Obama event in Tampa in August.

Obama Protesters: Blacks Against Obama :
A group called Blacks Against Obama has again taken to the campaign trail. They vocally protested an Obama rally in Florida, catching the candidate off guard and off message.
During Obamas speech in Coral Gables, Florida, a sea of protest signs greeted him which interrupted his message. The signs contained various messages on them all under the auspices of Blacks Against Obama.
Although Obama told the crowd it was fine for protesters to be there, behind the scenes his campaign staffers did something else. The entire group was physically escorted out of the political event in a manner resembling Hells Angels security at a rock concert. One moment of the video captures what might be a hand-signal from Obama himself.
Nobody should object to removing protesters from a public event convened to express ideas. The crowd is there to hear Obama speak, and even well-intentioned protests interfere with Obamas own first amendment right to free speech.
And nobody should be surprised that Obamas enthusiastic supporters vociferously shouted down the differing opinion. If another respectful crowd of Blacks Against Obama want to protest Barack Obama, it is appropriate for them to exercise their own 1st Amendment right, but do it across the street.
Besides, their message is nothing new.
What may raise eyebrows is how the large team of security guards descended on the crowd like wolves. Nobody wants to live in a police state where political protests are broken up abruptly simply to allow a political candidate to deliver the usual stump speech.
One expects that Obama will coach his vigilant backers on how to better handle the situation in the future. The suppression of ideas, even ideas contrary to Obamas own opinion, is not a lasting image that the campaign will want the public to remember.

ABC's David Kerley and Sunlen Miller report: For the second time in two months, Senator Obama was heckled by African American protestors during events in Florida.
Shortly after starting his remarks before a 7,000 person rally in Coral Gables, Friday, Obama was abruptly interrupted by a group of about 20 African American protesters.
The group of mostly men chanted and waved signs reading, "Obama endorsed by the KKK" and "Blacks against Obama."
The Democratic nominee aware of the distraction stopped his remarks and called out the protestors.
"Hey young people out there it's no problem for you to put your signs up, but let everybody let me finish what I have to say, alright? Come on guys."
As Obama continued his speech the protests did not subside, causing the rest of the crowd to attempt to drown out the protestorswith 'Yes we can' chants instead - in support of Senator Obama.
The protestors were escorted out by secret service and Obama campaign staff.
"Alright guys, see ya," Obama said to them as they left the arena at the University of Miami, "Alright, let's get back to work."
This wasn't the first time Obama was besieged by a racially infused protest by African Americans. At the beginning of August in St Petersburg, FL , Obama was similarly interrupted by a smaller group of protestors with signs saying, "What about the black community, Obama?"
