UPDATE: Let me clarify a point regarding my comment on "women's basketball." I did not intend in any way the suggestion that women are inferior or anything of the sort and if anyone took it that way - then - I truly apologize.
What I meant (without elaborating in the vid - as if you wanted to hear that) by this comment was just that there was an added depth of humor to this particular rant by the Michigan coach because it was women's basketball, and in women's basketball there is not nearly the stress and pressure that there is associated with say Div 1 Men's football. For instance, the top 10 football programs have yearly revenues typically exceeding $60-70 million!!!! Fans, media, alumni, boosters, etc are incessantly breathing down these coaches necks..more than any other college coaches. Therefore, the idea that a FB coach loses it once in a while in a POSTGAME press conference...well that kinda makes sense. Whereas, in a women's college basketball game - well there just isnt the pressure there, not to say that a coach couldnt get upset and unleash his anger/frustration.
Additionally - there is more humor in the simple fact that well - women's basketball isn't even televised (with occasional exception for Tennessee, Duke, North Carolina, and Connecticut). So the idea of seeing a POSTGAME press conference for women's basketball is even more rare and thus more humorous that this is teh clip that garners attention - just a little irony.
So - again any suggestion that I am a jerk/idiot, you obviously didn't understand my remark, and I again apologize...hope this clears things up.

Various UM clips from the 70's. Observations from someone who wasn't alive yet...
1. The field at the Big House was astroturf. That lasted until 1991.
2. No lettering in the end zones until 1976.
3. 10 seconds into the video - look at all those empty seats in the stands! Other than the MSU and OSU games, the big house was rarely sold out for the rest of the season. Despite having a combined record of 50-4-1 between 1970 and 1974 and going undefeated at home, the big house didn't start their 100,000+ attendance streak at games until 1975.
4. In the mid-70's, the team wore white pants at away games. We look like Penn State with winged helmets.
5. In 1972, the block M on the 50 yard line looks too small and wimpy. (2:37) I'm glad that didn't stay around too long.
6. The players didn't have their names on their jerseys. Those weren't added until 1981.
7. I'm a little confused. All history records on the internet list the 1974 Colorado game as a home game. But looking at 3:57-4:06, they're obviously playing in Boulder.

Lest there be any confusion, showing Romney's old stances as a less-than-diehard conservative in Massachusetts is intended to emphasize his ubercynical ability to shape-shift into desirable forms, not to suggest he's a somehow tolerable closet moderate who is simply pretending to be a detestable right wing nut. I don't mean to suggest he should be given the benefit of any doubt in that direction--that's by no means the reason Michigan Dems should cast their vote for him January 15th.
In the rough and real world of politics, Progressives can't afford for voting to be an emotional act of personal expression. It has to be pragmatic, strategic, and effective. So, just this weird once...go Romney. Though it burns my fingers when I type it.
