34th Annual Logie Awards opener 1992.
The days when all the networks had a crack at hosting the Logies. All adding a distinctive flavour to the show.
Friday March 13 1992 was Seven's turn, held at the Radisson President Hotel on Albert Park Lake in Melbourne and hosted by Steve Vizard.
At the time, the "Fast Forward" team were at the top of their game and at the top of the ratings.. so their spin on the opener was both timely and very funny !!
Watch out for the Kerri-Anne HEAD BUTT !!
These awards made history, in as much as Jana Wendt won the GOLD but was not there to pick it up. The first time ever the GOLD Logie winner was not present to collect. Then 9 News and now 7 News Boss, Peter Meakin accepted ably on her behalf.
More notably, ABC TV's "4 Corners" won the "Hall of Fame" award and it was picked up by the Executive Producer, Marian Wilkinson and the late and great TV Journalist, Andrew Olle.

This was the opener to the 1982 Logie Awards telecast from the ballroom of the Hilton Hotel in Melbourne by Channel 9 on the 12th of March.
This after a 2 year break for 9. Channel 10 had broadcast the awards for the first time in 1981 from Centrepoint in Sydney.
The host is Bert Newton. The voice-over coming from veteran GTV 9 Announcer, Pete Smith.

This was one of two "caught Logie, bowled Walsh" of the first Australian innings, which saw them capitulate under the West Indian pace attack for 167, setting the tone for the remainder of the series.
I believe this is perhaps the strongest batting line up that has ever toured Australia - Greenidge, Haynes, Richardson, Hooper, Richards, Logie, Dujon and Marshall.

Neighbours star Kylie Minogue created Logies history that year by winning four awards on the one night, including the Gold. The then 19-year old was also the youngest recipient of the Gold.

This is Part 2 of the Logies Opener for 1983 featuring a great dance number paying tribute to the 25th Silver Anniversary.
The creative Directer of the whole show that evening was legendary live events Producer, Ted Dunn.
The host of the Awards that night though was an unlikely choice.. Current Affairs Host, Mike Willesee.
The Awards had a line-up of some the biggest stars from home and abroad that night including, Priscilla Presley, Odd Couple and Quincy Star, Jack Klugman and former Charlie's Angel, Kate Jackson.
Graham Kennedy presented the GOLD to Daryl Somers.
To top it off the Awards managed a new record that night being the longest ever telecast of the Logies. It ran for close to 3 and a half hours.
