Musical excerpts from a feature film Lehmann made in 1948. Not included is Lehmann leading the entire cast in God Bless America. She had a major part in this very sentimental film. She played a Jewish mother which was quite a feat because she was not domestic at all. Her acting is quite good. Unfortunately the musical excerpts are very short. Full length versions of the songs from the film were issued by RCA. The only opportunity to see her sing while she was still performing. She retired 3 years later.

"Wenn man Linowskis Buch in den Händen hält und die Ausführungen auf dem Schutzumschlag gelesen hat, findet man sich unversehen mit zwei Fragen konfrontiert:
Erstens: Ein Roman mit rd. 700 Seiten, das verspricht epische Breite. Da fallen einem die Buddenbrooks oder Fritz Reuters Stromtied ein. Daraus die Frage: Epische Breite geht so was heute überhaupt noch?
Zweitens: Das Thema zweiter Weltkrieg und erste Nachkriegszeit verspricht Elend und Schrecken, lesenswerter erschiene einem vordergründig ein Buch liebenswerteren Gegenstandes. Und damit lautet die Frage: Lässt sich ohne die Schrecken des Krieges irgendwie zu verniedlichen - über so etwas Fürchterliches wie den II. Weltkrieg überhaupt ein „liebenswertes Buch schreiben?
Als Vertreter der Ingenieur- und nicht der Literaturwissenschaft urteile ich nicht als Literatur-Fachmann, sondern einfach als interessierter Leser und meine nach Lesen des Buches: Der Autor hat es geschafft, beide Fragen eindrucksvoll mit „Ja zu beantworten.
Für mich Jahrgang 1940 und nach dem Krieg ausgesprochen pazifistisch erzogen - ist es das erste Buch über den zweiten Weltkrieg überhaupt, das ich ganz zu lesen imstande war, andere Bücher zum zweiten Weltkrieg fing ich an und legte sie nach wenigen zig Seiten beiseite.
Zusammengefasst: Dank an den Autor für das gelungene Buch!
Nun kann ich mir gut vorstellen, dass insbesondere jüngeren Menschen in unserer hektischen Zeit der Roman zu lang, zu breit vorkommt. Ich halte das nicht für einen Mangel, sondern einen Vorzug des Buchs. Man soll schließlich nicht die Historie des II. Weltkrieges erlernen, sondern sich in die Menschen, ihr Denken, Fühlen, Handeln hineinversetzen können, und das bei Kriegsfeinden! So etwas lässt sich nicht rationalisieren, liebenswert (genauso, wie kritisierenswert) werden Menschen erst dann, wenn man sie kennt! Und das kostet Zeit, so oder so!
Vielleicht ist es nur das schmale Zeitfenster der Jahrgänge etwa 1937 bis 1942, aus denen ein Autor ein solches Buch zu schreiben in der Lage ist. Die Älteren sind wahrscheinlich schon zu sehr selbst mit den Kriegsschrecken und Schwierigkeiten der Nachkriegszeit konfrontiert worden, um hinreichend unparteilich beide Seiten betrachten zu können, die Jüngeren wissen wiederum zu wenig aus eigenem direktem Erleben.
Zusammengefasst: Dank an den Verlag, diese Umstände erkannt und das Buch so, wie es jetzt ist, verlegt zu haben."

Mr.'s large-eyed characters and flat color fields are influenced by the Otaku movement and its Lolita-esque fascination with adolescents.
Mr. lives and works in Saitama, just outside of Tokyo. He graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Sokei Art School in Tokyo in 1996. Mr. was discovered by Takashi Murakami in 1995 and since then has been involved with Murakami's art organization Kaikai Kiki, as both a represented artist and a pivotal staff.
