Missy Elliott - 205 sec "1, 2 Step" is a an uptempo hip hop based urban song recorded by Ciara and Missy Elliott for Ciara's debut album Goodies (2004). Written by Ciara and Missy Elliott and produced by Jazze Pha, it was released as the album's second single in October 2004 (see 2004 in music) in the United States and the second quarter of 2005 (see 2005 in music) internationally. It reached the top ten in several countries worldwide. The song is heavily-inspired by 1980s electro music production. Throughout the lyrics, Ciara gives a description how the song's beat feels as she demands party-goers to dance to the music.
"1, 2 Step" is one of four songs originally recorded at Doppler Studios in Atlanta two years before the release of Goodies. Pha asked Missy Elliott to appear on the track and she accepted. Elliott recorded her rap verse at the Hit Factory Criteria in Miami. Jazze Pha quoted that he completed the instrumental in four minutes. Pha said after feeling the others' energy in the recording studio makes "the best ones come real quick, in like four to eight minutes".
"1, 2 Step" is a R&B--futuristic track, which is strongly influenced by 1980s electro music. The song was created on one of Jazze Pha's five Akai MPC3000s. Pha used laser pulses from E-mu Proteus 2000s that were used for old school hip hop songs and b-boy break dance tracks. Engineer Nico Solis says, "The zaps are his signature, his hi-hat when he's doing futuristic beats".[1] "1, 2 Step" is inspired by Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock". Jazze Pha thought about how he could create a more melodic version, "almost like roller-skating music". He believed it would fit Ciara's image. From the archives of the DMV Channel on NO GOOD TV comes the return of one of the most legendary gangsta-rap groups in history -- Tha Dogg Pound! Only this time around, West Coast legends Kurupt and Daz Dillinger have company -- Bigg Snoop Dogg himself!
This album features Snoop as an official member and executive producer of Tha Dogg Pound, providing that classic g-funk flow we all know and love. Combined with Daz's incredible flow and Kurupt's thoroughbred lyricism, this album is a guaranteed banger! In the booth, the Dogg Pound brought out all their A-List clientele for the album, including appearances by Diddy, Ice Cube, Paul Wall, David Banner, Nate Dogg and more. Supplying the beats are super-producers Battlecat, Jazze Pha and Swizz Beatz among other noted hitmakers. The album also includes the bangers "Sittin' On 23z" and the title track "Cali Iz Active".
In the beginning, Daz and Kurupt were two of several artists on the Death Row roster. Both made minor contributions to Dre's The Chronic before making substantially larger contributions to Snoop's Doggystyle. In fact, their omnipresence on Snoop's album spawned the opportunity to capitalize on that album's success; it was no surprise then when Death Row tagged Daz and Kurupt as Snoop protégés, tagging them tha Dogg Pound for promotional reasons. Granted, Snoop played a large role in tha Dogg Pound, as did Nate Dogg, but with the release of Dogg Food, it was undeniably clear that Daz and Kurupt needed no mentoring.
Either way, it wasn't long before Daz and Kurupt embarked on full-fledged solo careers. Kurupt had success with Tha Streetz Iz a Mutha while Daz released R.A.W. Yet with Dre's return in 2000 and the steady West Coast rap renaissance that began as a result, Death Row dug through their vaults — as they had done for similar Snoop and 2Pac releases — assembling what would eventually surface as tha Dogg Pound's 2002. The album featured appearances by the likes of 2Pac, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, a remix of Jay-Z's "Change the Game" featuring the Roc-A-Fella clique, and a Dr. Dre-produced lead single, "Just Doggin."

Artist: Neil Diamond
Album: The Jazz Singer 1980
Song: America
Far
We've been traveling far
Without a home
But not without a star
Free
Only want to be free
We huddle close
Hang on to a dream
On the boats and on the planes
They're coming to America
Never looking back again
They're coming to America
Home, don't it seem so far away
Oh, we're traveling light today
In the eye of the storm
In the eye of the storm
Home, to a new and a shiny place
Make our bed, and we'll say our grace
Freedom's light burning warm
Freedom's light burning warm
Everywhere around the world
They're coming to America
Every time that flag's unfurled
They're coming to America
Got a dream to take them there
They're coming to America
Got a dream they've come to share
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
Today, today, today, today, today
My country 'tis of thee
Today
Sweet land of liberty
Today
Of thee I sing
Today
Of thee I sing
Today

Looking tan and radiant, Amy Winehouse on Friday sang at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert in London in spite of health problems that have plagued her.
Winehouse, 24, has undergone numerous medical tests and spent time in the hospital in recent weeks after fainting at her home in London earlier this month. She has been photographed looking pale and sickly.
But there were no signs of illness Friday night in Hyde Park when Winehouse took the stage in front of nearly 50,000 to perform hits including "Rehab" and "Valerie," London's Daily Mail reported.
Later, the blues songstress known for her heavy black eyeliner and jet-black beehive hairdo returned with Jerry Dammers and the Soweto Gospel Choir for a rendition of "Free Nelson Mandela" by The Special AKA.
At one point, Winehouse gave a nod to her husband, Blake, who is in prison, by replacing the lyrics with "Free Blakey, my fella," according to the Mail.
The concert was dubbed 46664 after Mandela's prison number, also the name of his AIDS charity, which will receive money raised by the birthday bash.
Among the other celebrities and performers were Annie Lennox; Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith; Leona Lewis; Razorlight; British Prime Minister Gordon Brown; and Sugababes, the Mail reported. Members of Queen closed the show with "We Are the Champions." "Edinburgh's Jason Robertson played bass for numerous jazz-funk bands before settling into the studio to focus on all things electronic. Settling on the Aqua Bassino moniker, he released his '96 debut EP, Swirl, on France's foremost electronic imprint, F Communications. Three more EPs followed (Deeper, Pools, and Waves) before Robertson released his '91 debut album, Beats 'n' Bobs. Skillfully blending elements of jazz, soul, and blues, the album features Scottish saxophonist Martin Kershaw, U.K. jazz singer of the year Niki King, and African diva Nahawa Doumbia, who has worked extensively with Frederic Galliano. "Baby C'Mon" was released as single in early '02 with remixes by deep house don Ron Trent and Detroit electro pioneer Soul Designer (Fabrice Lig). In his spare time, Robertson produces laid-back house and downtempo for Statra under his Jay Salino alias."
