Electro Harmonix POG - 442 sec
www.ProguitarShop.com Use the Electro-Harmonix POG Polyphonic Octave Generator to add one or 2 octaves up, and one octave down and blend all of them together with straight-through signal. Works on chords. Want your guitar to sound like a 12-string? The POG can do it or even make it sound like an 18-string. Fader controls for input, dry output, sub octave, one octave, one octave detune, 2 octaves, 2 octaves detune, and low-pass filter. The octave effect was the main reason I bought the POG. I don't use it for guitar, I play harmonica through it! My rig consist of a ElecroVoice RE 8 or 10 mic, a inline compressor/volumn control into a Boss DM-2, Boss OC-2 with the octaves all the way off and the tone at about 3, a Boss DD-3 set at 800 ms., the POG, Hughes and Kettner MKI rotosphere into a 59 Bandmaster. I set the POG with the dry at 50%, the sub at about 80%, the 1 and 2 octaves at around 30% and the detuned octaves at about 25%. I set the LPF in the middle position. Depending on where I'm playing - outside, large room, small room, etc., I'll make slight adjustments to fit the space. Incredible sound! I'm a professional blues musician and have been playing the harp for over 40 years. This is the best sound I've ever gotten for amped harp. It sounds as if I'm playing a B3. The POG gives me hugh sounding notes and tracks perfectly. When I'm tongue blocking chords it really has a organ like vibe. The rotosphere and POG together sound like no harmonica you've ever heard. I can play the classic style harp of LW, Sonny Boy, etc., but I've chosen to take the harp into new territory and the POG is a big part of the sound I get now. When other harp players discover the POG, they are going to flip!! GREAT SOUND!!!!! The Electro-Harmonix POG has a number of sliding controls for input gain, output, sub-octave (one below source), +1 octave (one above source) +1 detuned, +2 octave and +2 octave detuned. There is also control for the low pass frequency and and LPF selection over what it actually controls. All up, the POG is easy to use in so far that it make a great sound whatever you do with it. It's less easy to use when aiming for a specific sound, but this is by virtue of the simply jaw-dropping array of sounds one finds getting there. Hours can be lost with this thing, and, with the sheer quality of the sound, that's A Very Good Thing. The manual is well-written and offers good explanation for the controls, but it does take some musical knowledge to best understand its content. No bad thing. The only slight disadvantage with the POG is repeating settings you've found. The sliders are only graduated with 25, 50 and 75% marks and can't be set that accurately. Again, no biggie when the sounds are so great. I'd rather the sliders than LCDs and menus! Hells Bells, this POG is like the freakin' Holy Grail of guitar FX!!! let's see, where to begin? if you just push up nothing but the input fader, you've got a fuzzbox; if you just push up the sub-octave and fiddle with the lowpass, you've got a bass; if you bring in the dry signal with the first octave detuned, you've got a 12-string; if you put them all together, you get a really fat tone for lead-playing; and then if you just start movin' things around, you start finding realistic organ sounds comin' out the proverbial wazoo! i'm not one for church, but i'm all for churchy - and Jiminy Christmas, does this thing get CHURCHY! i'm talkin' anything from ringing cathedral tones, to intimate gospel settings (find 'em by bringing the lowpass down to a subtle hum), to grinding Hammond gain and lots of stuff in between.... i can't WAIT to try IT out with my Destination Rotation and the Pulsar.... so if this isn't enough yet, yes there's more, you can get a sweet steel drum tone, accordion, bagpipes (more or less), and lilting 2nd-octave tones by themselves approximating either a VERY melodically-tweeting bird or John Popper going nuts on the harp.... i'm still looking for the sitar tone which some other dude wrote was in there somewhere....

Electro Harmonix Small Stone - 233 sec
www.ProGuitarShop.com, The Small Stone phaser has been holding its ground for decades despite its small size. This classic phase shifter from Electro Harmonix can sound warm and gooey or in your face depending on which Color mode you're in. The upper mode has a wider sweep range and resonance. Increase the extremely versatile Rate control to super fast, ray gun tones, or a fully counter-clockwise for a creeping phase that breathes through your speakers! The lower Color mode sounds like a familiar 70's phaser, with a less harsh upper end and warm low end. Simulate a leslie speaker in this mode or unleash your Atomic Punk!! Be sure to leave no Small Stone unturned.

Electro Harmonix Holiest Grail Reverb - 455 sec
www.ProGuitarShop.com, The Holiest Grail is the most versatile reverb effect to date, by Electro Harmonix. With just about every parameter of natural sounding reverb at your fingertips, you can sculpt and store up to 8 presets of your favorite verb tones! With features like Stereo outputs, expression control, and MIDI in and outs, your reverb settings don't have to be stagnent anymore. Recall 2 favorite presets on the fly with the A and B stomp switches; perfect for live settings. You can also dial in the tone and feel with Damping and Difussion controls, for subtle changes in the wet sounds. Extreme Pre-Delay, as well as Feedback controls, turn this stereo reverb into a echo pedal. Finally, the Mixer section lets you dial in exactly how much Dry, Spring, and Reverb signals coming out of the EH Holiest Grail. Whew! That's the Holiest of the Holys! The Holiest Grail is a digital stereo reverb pedal that features 8 effect parameters and 8 preset saves spots. top of the range reverb, offering control over many more aspects of the effect than the cheaper Holy pedals, and most if not all other manufacturers reverb pedals. The parameters available are delay time (length of time after which the reverb kicks in following the dry), feedback (loops the input and so thickens the tone), decay (length of reverb), dampening (a environment surrounding simulator) set at minimum the environment can be compared to carpeted walls, set at max, it's probably modelling some sort of mirror room like the one in Enter the Dragon), diffusion (very very subtle reverb complexity control), dry volume, spring tone simulator volume (this is not spring reverb, but an overtone the emulates the snap of springs), and reverb volume. The presets are accessible by two footswitches labelled A and B, which work in conjunction with a preset slide from which you select one of four banks. Only two presets can be saved and accessed per bank, which means that not all 8 presets can be activated by foot unless you have midi. Presets are very easy to save. Simply switch to preset mode, select the bank you want to save in, and hold down either the A or B switch (to save A or B spot respectively) and wait for the LED to stop blinking. It's quite hard to make a bad sound with this pedal, but achieving the reverb sound in your head can be a bit tricky, given the level of control. If EHX had listed the "ingredients" for the preloaded presets in the manual, this may have shortened the learning curve for this unit. I'm still having trouble getting a spring sound I like. One day I like the spring tone set high, then the next it will sound very fake and unusual. I should plug the Holiest into a Fender Twin (or better yet next to a Fender outboard reverb unit) and set up a preset from the real thing. This goes to demonstrate why you want control over as much of the reverb as possible - everyone has their own tastes and EHX's spring tone and the one in my head couldn't be further apart.

Electro Harmonix HOG & Pigtronix Echolution - 518 sec
This is to show some of the textures you can create with the EH HOG. It does a lot of cool things - but its not a "guitar synthesizer" in the sense it doesn't create sawtooth or square waves - what it does is give you different octaves and harmonies relative to your original pitch. It then puts that signal thru a 12 db resonant lowpass filter. It doesn't really work that well with chords - it does if you keep it to just a couple octaves and/or harmonies - but when you adjust your playing style you can coax all sorts of cool sounds out of it. Its really great for adding ambient textures to your music. I hope this will help you decide if you can use the HOG in your creative process. I was kinda disappointed with the EH demonstration of it from NAMM on YouTube. Camcorder mics suck - especially in a huge convention hall. I would love to produce product demo videos for some of these guys! I improvised some music for this video incorporating the Pigtronix Echolution -including a couple spots where I looped a short segment and played on top of it. I also ran the sound thru a little bit of reverb on my Lexicon PCM-80. I also used just a tiny amount of chorus from the Roland SDX Dimensional Expander. My favorite feature of the HOG is the expression pedal - especially the "volume" mode which lets you blend in the amount of effected signal with the original guitar signal. Kind of like a volume swell. The other is the "filter" mode which gives you an awesome analog wah effect. Of course the whole idea here is to hopefully inspire your creative ideas - and think of ways you might use this tool.

Electro Harmonix Stereo Polyphase - 454 sec
www.ProGuitarShop.com The Electro-Harmonix Stereo Polyphase Effects Pedal resurrects the popular Polyphase pedal as part of the Electro-Harmonix XO die-cast series. Now in stereo and an improved housing, the Stereo Polyphase Effects Pedal features the same features and controls that so many guitarists loved and relied on to crank out lush, otherworldly tones from the original. Featuring envelope/sweep switch, feedback level, rate, envelope sensitivity, envelope modulation, and modulation rate. Electro-Harmonix Stereo Polyphase Effects Pedal Features: * Controls * Env./Sweep: Switches the effect between a phaser with an adjustable speed automatic sweep, and a phaser with an envelope-driven sweep mode. * Feedback: Controls the phaser * feedback/resonance * Rate * Env. Sens.: Controls the sensitivity of the effect to the input signal. * Env. Mod.: Controls the depth of the envelope controlled sweeps * Mod. Rate: Controls the speed of the LFO Electro Harmonix Stereo Polyphase. GREAT SOUND! has a very watery/smooth sound. in both modes you can get lots of cool sounds. the phaser mode sounds very similar to the small stone. but this mode has only one flaw i think. on the small stone you have that depth switch that when is on(up) you can really deep sounds, one the polyhase you cant go that deep. you can still get a good deep sound with just not as deep as the small stone. i dont use that depth switch on my small stone a whole lot anyway so this doesnt realy bother. the envelope control model is really neat. some people have said it an envelope follower or a phase shifter with a little more to it. but i kind of think its those with a flanger thrown in somewhere. i mean you can hear phase shifting, an little but of an auto-wah sound, and a little bit of a flanging sound. it depends on what settings you have you feedbacl knob and env. sensitivity knob. those two control which of those three sounds there is more of in this mode. maybe not everyone who has this effect will think the same way i do about the flanging sound being there, but i swear it sounds like an electric mistress with a phaser on it. but whatever the envelope control mode does exactly, it must do it well because its really cool. vey guiet too when turned on. and unlike the small stone, the polyphase doesnt cut volume when on.
