Ratner told MTV News: 'She reminded me a lot of Madonna. And I hate saying that, but what I mean is, like Madonna, she can be hanging out and laughing, and then you put the camera on her and it's like, 'Holy sh--!''
That effervescence actually made the simple performance video more difficult for the director. 'It was the hardest video I've ever edited because every moment was great,' he said.
'Every moment that she was on camera, she was amazing. She's got an incredible quality about her. She gets the camera, and that's what it takes to make a great music video.'
'She came out in these high-heel boots and I was going to say something to her about them,' he continued, 'but on her own she was like, 'I'd feel better in sneakers.' Her instincts are great. She has great charisma and personality.'
He recalled discussing the video with the young star during a visit to her home, where she told him how much the song, which she co-wrote, means to her, and said that it's about an ex-boyfriend. [Cyrus told MTV News last month that much of the album is about ex-boyfriends.]
While Ratner declined to reveal who exactly that ex is, he gave away a significant detail, perhaps inadvertently, that seems to confirm the song is about Nick Jonas. Cyrus recently admitted, after months of unconfirmed speculation, that she dated Jonas for two years.
'She had me come out to her house,' Ratner recalled. 'She started showing me all of her personal items from under her bed that her ex-boyfriend gave her. So she pulled out his dirty socks and a bunch of photographs. The necklace she's wearing in the video is the necklace he gave her. She's wearing his diabetes or medical necklace.'
Nick recently made himself a de facto spokesperson for awareness of the disease: Earlier this month, the group held a press conference where he said the title track to their new LP, A Little Bit Longer, for which he wrote the lyrics, is a 'life song' where he addresses his affliction.
For his part, Ratner said he believes Cyrus has the talent and the attitude to make her not only a Best New Artist, but a career artist.
'She was very down to earth, and it's kind of very popular for little girls in the entertainment industry to be kind of bratty,' he said. 'I couldn't believe how many people wanted to visit [the video set], and I've worked with people like Mariah and Madonna. She was very gracious and she's very smart. She really knows her stuff. Look, [whether] she wins or not, I think she'll make a great transition [from being a teen star]. She's very conscientious of her persona and of the crossover.'
He also pointed out what he sees as her emotional maturity, and her comfort with being a 15 year old superstar. 'She's not, like, frustrated with where she's at,' he said. 'You can tell by the lyrics that they're very personal and that's how she'll make that transition. The stuff she talks about in the video is clever and emotional and fun at the same time. You can be 18 and enjoy it too.'

The characters don't have names, their names are just letters.
G = Leehom Wang (The main guy character - the one that dies)
M = Nirace (The main girl character - the blind one)
A = Alan Kuo (the guy who got into an accident with the main girl and ends up falling in love with her)
S = Han Xue (a friend)
Z = Chen Gang (a friend)
Part 1:?
Basically M and G meet each other.?They fall in love.?They travel together to SegaMe Village and they become friends with Z and S.?The two lovebirds promise that they will love and be together forever. However, M's family is against her being with G so they take her away.?G is a street fighter person.?It's on the day of his big match and M still hasn't returned.?G goes into the fight depressed.?Meanwhile M is trying her best to escape her family.?She does and she is on the road trying to reach G's match.?On the road she gets into an accident with A.?Her car flips and she is badly hurt.?G on the other hand is fighting, however his mind is on M so he isn't concentrating.?He is also hurt really badly.
Part 2:?G sustains brain damage and although he survives the fight, he is told he only has a few months to live.?M on the other hand also survives her car accident because A saves her.?A takes her in and takes care of her(A starts liking M), but M has become blind from the damage sustained from the accident.?G realizes he only has a few months to live, but he doesn't know where M is.?He wants to at least see M once before he dies.?nbsp; While he is driving around in his car, finding the meaning in his life, he can do nothing but wait for M.?However after a few months passes, he realizes his time is running out.?He looks at a picture of him, M, Z, and S (the friends they met at SegaMe village) and decides to visit Z and S before he dies.?Meanwhile M is with A, and she also has a picture of Z and S and asks to be taken there.?She doesn't know where G is but she wants to visit Z and S because of the good memories she and G had there.?
Part 3: G is at Z and S's house G tries to forget about his impending death.?However just then, M coincidently comes with A.?G is shocked, he is both happy to see her, sad he won't be able to see her for long, confused as to what happened, and angry at himself.?M is blind so she does not know that G is there.?A sees G and gives G the picture that M was holding.?G throws the picture away.?A gets angry, he thinks that G doesn't want M anymore because M is blind.?However G says just a few words, 'What hurts me the most is that I can't keep my promise.? A then understands that G means that his can't keep the promise of staying with M forever.?nbsp; That night G doesn't sleep all night and sits next to M's bed.?He holds her hand and he remembers their memories.?The daylight comes and G can't stand facing M so he leaves; however when he leaves he leaves a key.?The key to his locker.?nbsp; Which metaphorically stands for the key to his heart.?He leaves and just then M wakes up.?She knows that someone was in her room and she recognizes the essence and touch of G.?Although she is blind she manages to stumble out of the house but G has already left.?Later G dies, however although he dies he tries his best to keep his promise.?He promised her that he would be with her forever but because he dies he can't, however in an attempt to be a part of and watch over M forever, even after death, G pledges his cornea to M (You know when you die and you can pledge organs).?G says "Sorry I can't keep my promise.?I love you.?Please forgive me.?Whatever happens, I will always be with you. (which is true since his eyes are now her eyes)." M gets her vision back.?G is dead.?nbsp; But M remembers the key that G left her.?She visits his locker and when she opens it she finds two rings and roses left for her by G before he died, and she finally realizes that the her eyes are her dead boyfriend's.?Kind of sad and creepy at the same time.
