The Wonders of FSO - Lego Movie - 194 sec Free space optics (FSO) involves communication between a transmitter and receiver using infra-red (IR) light. Our final year electrical engineering project involved implementing FSO in an intelligent transport system (ITS). Basically for our project we implemented an infra-red optics communication platform that would enable vehicles to transmit and receive traffic related data via wireless communication to roadside poles.
So where does Lego come into it? This was a bit of fun aimed at demonstrating the advantages of the ITS functionalities using FSO and was displayed at our final year exhibition.
