Vocalist Nick Van Eede founded the group along with Canadian guitarist Kevin Scott MacMichael in 1985, and made demos that led to a recording contract, before bassist Colin Farley and drummer Martin Beadle joined in 1986.

A cutting of a starburst pattern done by Grin on St. Michael's arm. This was done as a cutting demo for a Detroit area bdsm group. The footage in this clip was taken from the camera that was used for large screen projection so the audience could get to see the process up close. You may notice that Grindatti demonstrates several different knives during this video. His prefered blade, seen through most of the clip, is an iris scalpel.
It was a tough decision whether or not to post it. It was never intended to be used for anything other than projection at the time -hence, there is no establishing shot or final product shown. It does, however, show nice cutting technique and, in the end, it was for this reason that the decision was made to post the clip.
