"What Western intelligence authorities know about THE PROJECT begins with the raid of a luxurious villa in Campione, Switzerland on November 7, 2001. The target of the raid was Youssef Nada, director of the Al-Taqwa Bank of Lugano, who has had active association with the Muslim Brotherhood for more than 50 years and who admitted to being one of the organization's international leaders. The ARAB Muslim Brotherhood, regarded as the oldest and one of the most important Islamist movements in the world, was founded by Hasan al-Banna in 1928 and dedicated to the credo, "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope.
The raid was conducted by Swiss law enforcement at the request of the White House in the initial crackdown on terrorist finances in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. U.S. and Swiss investigators had been looking at Al-Taqwa's involvement in money laundering and funding a wide range of Islamic terrorist groups, including Al-Qaeda, HAMAS (the Palestinian affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood), the Algerian GIA, and the Tunisian Ennahdah.
Included in the documents seized during the raid of Nada's Swiss villa was a 14-page plan written in Arabic dated December 1, 1982, which outlines a 12-point strategy to "establish an Islamic government on earth" -- identified as The Project.
According to testimony given to Swiss authorities by Nada, the unsigned document was prepared by "Islamic researchers" associated with the ARAB Muslim Brotherhood.
What makes THE PROJECT so different from the standard "Death of America! Death to Israel!" and "Establish the global caliphate!" islamist rhetoric is that it represents a flexible, multi-phased, long-term approach to the "cultural invasion" of the West. Calling for the utilization of various tactics, ranging from immigration, infiltration, surveillance, propaganda, protest, deception, political legitimacy and terrorism, THE PROJECT has served for more than two decades as the ARAB Muslim Brotherhood's "Master Plan".
As can be seen in a number of examples throughout Europe -- including the political recognition of parallel Islamist government organizations in Sweden, the recent "cartoon" jihad in Denmark, the Parisian car-burning intifada last November, and the 7/7 terrorist attacks in London -- the plan outlined in "The Project" has been overwhelmingly successful.
Rather than focusing on terrorism as the sole method of group action, as is the case with Al-Qaeda, in perfect postmodern fashion the use of terror falls into a multiplicity of options available to progressively infiltrate, confront, and eventually establish Islamic domination over the West.
THE ARAB MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD [M.B.](officially known as Jamiat al-Ikhwan al-Muslimun, ARAB Society of Muslim Brothers) is a religious and political terrorist organization founded in 1928 in Egypt by Hasan al-Banna. Early opposed to secular tendencies in Islamic nations, the organization has sought to foster a return to the original precepts of the Qur'an. It grew rapidly, establishing an educational, economic, military, and political infrastructure.
Threatened by its power, Egypt's government twice banned the M.B. organization (1948, 1954).
It has since existed largely as a militant group, marked by rejection of Western influences. The M.B. remains strong in Egypt, Syria, Sudan, and other Arab countries and has resorted to acts of political violence. It was permitted to operate openly in Egypt in the late 80's and early 90's, but he government again moved against the group in the mid-late 90's.
Members of the M.B. have been elected to Egypt's parliament as independents. The M.B. has influenced and supported a number of militant and violent organizations, such as "Hamas," Gama'a al-Islamiya, and Islamic Jihad.
*The M.B. assassinated the Prime Minister of Egypt, Mahmud Fahmi Nokrashi, on December 28, 1948.
Anwar -as-Sadat, promised the M.B. that Shari'a would be implemented as the Egyptian law and released all of the Brotherhood prisoners; however, the M.B. lost their trust in Sadat when he signed the peace agreement with Israel in 1979; The ARAB Muslim Brotherhood assassinated Anwar Sadat in September 1981.
Today, a very complex financial network connects the operations of over seventy branches of the ARAB Muslim Brothers...worldwide. During the ARAB Muslim Brother's 70 plus years of existence, there have been cycles of growth followed by divisions into factions, including clandestine financial networks, and violent jihad groups, such as al-jihad and al-Gama'at al-Islamiyya in Egypt, HAMAS, in PALESTINE and mujahideen groups in AFGHANISTAN."

Brotherhood of Man and The New Seekers are among a handful of 70s pop-folk artists who were very effective in utilizing full choral harmonies in their sound to evoke the sense of togetherness and oneness characteristic of the era. This is United We Stand by Euro-pop group Brotherhood of Man, who ran the top of the British pop charts several times from 1970 to 1976, but only achieved American radio play with this LP. Frankly, this song just melts me. It's corny, it's idealistic, it's lyrics are simple but it's melodies are gorgeous, and the original members here (Tony Hillard, Tony Burrows, Sunny Leslie and Sue Glover) are earnest and true in their presentation. Like most choral pop groups, the band would endure an endless shuffle of members, and by 1976 none of the original four remained, but the innocence, optimism and sweetness of this track always will.
